Muscular Fitness Assessment
Headline Summary- As stated in the aerobic assessment, the client’s goals are to increase his aerobic capacity, to do well in the CrossFit open, be better prepared for his job in law enforcement, and live an overall healthier lifestyle. Just as aerobic fitness is essential to these goals muscular fitness is as well. I assessed my client’s upper body strength, lower body strength, lower body endurance, upper body endurance and core endurance. To assess a baseline of muscular strength and endurance for reference when prescribing an exercise program, my client was asked to determine and test to a 1 repetition max on standing overhead press and back squat for muscular strength. For muscular endurance the client performed

The client is regularly told to move heavy loads which requires a strong leg base developed from exercises like a back squat and maintaining a good overhead position is important in many Olympic lifts seen in Crossfit. The overhead press or shoulder press was chosen to test this overhead position strength. The other 3 tests were meant to test endurance so the fundamental movements of sit-ups, push-ups, and air squats the client was well versed in were selected over other tests requiring specific …show more content…
My client was a collegiate football athlete and it makes sense that some of the strength training from then would still be present today and coupled with his normal exercise routine makes his advanced scores understandable. Upper body fitness overall is also a strength for my client, but is not as dominant as his lower. His endurance tests rank him, on average, much higher than his strength test so when prescribing training this would be important to remember. One outlier in the client’s tests was his core endurance score of 30th percentile. I do not believe that his score accurately represents his core endurance or fitness. I believe that the normative data that was used to place him within a category was created by using different movement standards or different scoring criteria giving an inaccurate reading. Overall, my client’s muscular endurance and fitness rank him quite highly in comparison to other males in his age group. This is likely due to his normal high intensity exercise training and daily job activities of being a police
PAF 301 Written Performance Task 1. The two fitness tests I’m most proud of is my full sit ups in a minute and beep test results. The exercises I did in my three week fitness program to help me accomplish my 55 sit ups in a minute included a variety of core exercises. I’ve done side planks, sit ups, planks, russian twists, hollow holds, running mans, v-snaps, mountain climbers, plank jacks, wood chops and tuck extends.
Imagine this. On a Monday morning around 9:30, it was that time of year again: Fitness testing week and it was the day where we took the hardest, most physically painful test, also known as running the mile. The first lap seemed pretty easy to run but towards the end of the second lap, finishing the other two laps seemed impossible, so I just wanted to just walk it from there, when all of a sudden, a rush of energy came over me, allowing me to run a good 10 minute mile. Although I did want to give up and walk the rest of the mile, I pushed through it and managed to jog the whole time, making the reward of finishing sooner feel even better.
You take great pride in your passion for physical fitness, you work out daily, and you consistently score above a 90% on your annual Air Force Fitness Examination. Your fitness in an example to everyone in your work center and I would recommend you seek that opportunity to become the primary Unit Fitness Program Monitor (UFPM) in the Squadron. In accordance with (IAW) Air Force Instruction (AFI) AFI10-248, a UFPM is responsible for oversight and administration of the unit’s fitness program. Your responsibilities would include, scheduling Squadron members for their fitness assessments, administering the fitness questionnaire, and when applicable, entering Squadron member fitness exemptions into the base fitness management system. Also, per our Squadron Commanders fitness policy, as the UFPM you would be responsible for assisting Airmen who score lower that a 79% on their fitness assessment and are enrolled in the Commanders “FIT” program with personal workout routines at least three times a week.
Four factorial ANOVA’s were performed examining the relationship between superhumanization score, target race, and how these factors influence the estimations of height and weight for each of Thomas and Timothy All four ANOVA’s failed to produce significant results. With that being said, four additional factorial ANOVA’s were performed examining the relationship between target race and the estimations of weight and height for both Thomas and Timothy. The relationship between target race and the height estimations of Timothy was significant, F (1, 122) = 25.03, p < .05, MSE = 5.7, η2 = .17. Similarly, the relationship between target race and Thomas’s height estimations was significant, F (1, 121) = 28.71, p < .05, MSE = 4.2, η2= .19. The relationship between target race and Thomas’s weight estimations was significant, Thomas Weight, F (1, 122)
Michaela P. Capulong NU 333-01: Physical Assessment for the Nursing Professional June 29, 2015 Journal 7 When I do my assessment on admission, I always include the assessment findings that I expect to be abnormal if the patient has definite cardiovascular problem. I notify the MD and the nurse practitioner immediately if I find abnormal findings or values. I ensure to chart the education and the correction in response of the abnormal findings. In addition to that, tests and labs should be done to rule out problems. It is essential to know the patient’s health history before conducting the physical exam.
Its main focus points is manual muscle test and evaluation. Professionals such as doctors, nurses, physical therapists, athletic trainers and personal trainers use this book to search a specific muscle in the body to find a correct test to evaluate a particular muscle. Each chapter offers an expanded treatment and exercise sections to be able to evaluate personal injuries or pains suffered from training. Each chapter goes over a particular section of the body starting out with chapter one being about posture to the last chapter being lower extremities. It explains each muscles purpose, preforming test and proper treatment of each muscle and muscle
They are reported to have below-average fitness and at least one cardiovascular risk factor. Then the researcher offer them a 12 week long Tai Chi classes. After finishing the training, both are lower-body strength (measured by how quickly they can rise from a chair within 30 seconds) and upper-body strength (measured how well they can finish arm curls) are showed to have been
Introduction: The athlete that is being tested is 18 years old and he has been training for 4 years, currently playing at the NCAA Division 1 American football. This athlete has got 179.2cm height and a body mass of 82.4kg, which makes his physical attributes relatively good as a wide receiver, as they need to be lighter and are normally lighter than the rest of the athletes in an American football team, The wide receiver is charged with the responsibility to receive passes from other athletes, this will in turn make him an athlete that needs to be light in order to outrun the other athletes, Robbins (2011) indicates that based on sprinting tests done in his research wide receivers due to their lighter weight are able to perform better at 9.1m, 18.3m, 36.6m sprints having the best performance out of every athlete measured in the team, for the exception of the cornerback. This happens because cornerbacks are responsible for preventing receptions therefor making them a better athlete in order to block the wide receivers. According to Robbins and Young (2012)
Vision and Goals The Strengths Based Leadership assessment identified myself as being responsible, someone who can relate and communicate well with others, futuristic and encouraging. My goals for myself change a lot, however my vision for the communities that I serve, is to be the person who accommodates each characteristic described by the Strengths based assessment. I aim to advocate for, support, encourage, and lead underserved populations. I currently offer emergency psychiatric services to patients struggling with mental health and substance dependence. Obligations include lethality assessments, appropriate use of the DSM, consulting with Psychiatrists about patient disposition, answering a 24 hour hotline, and linkages to appropriate
As results, I had a VO@ MAX of 42.669, a population average of 37.295, a score of 84 and I was rated as “good.” Secondly, the muscular strength and endurance tests were: the plank (core strength) which was evaluated in 8 stages, the sit ups (30 seconds), the squats test, the push ups test and the standing long jump test. In the plank test, I succeed to do 7 stages on 8. For
The particiapnts were given a five-minute rest period between each set. We provided a one- minute rest period between the squats (front and back). For five seconds the subject would maximally contract the knee extensors against manual resistance for 5 seconds, which is the same way we measured MVC. The participants would also be shaved when necessary for placement, which was something that we did not do (Gullett, J. C., Tillman, M. D., Gutierrez, G. M.,
Leaders possess different strengths that allow them to succeed in their career or life. The Clifton Strengths Finder Assessment helped identify my top strengths and how to lead with my strengths in order to further develop them. My top five strengths were competition, positivity, winning others over (WOO), harmony, and achiever. Based on the meaning of each strength, I related to all them, however, I was surprised by some of them.
What is Strength & Conditioning Firstly we should define strength & conditioning. Generally speaking strength & conditioning refers to physical training to assist a particular activity, primarily a sport but could be an occupation, as opposed to training for general fitness. Certainly combat sport falls into this category, as strength & conditioning will assist your combat sport performance and training. Strength & conditioning can consist of weight training, other forms of resistance training, speed and agility, lactic threshold conditioning and required aerobic
As contained in the guidelines of the assignment I must participate in the activity for 30 minutes and record my results. For this, I decided to go through a chest workout which is my favorite weight training workout. Like any other workout, I take about 10-15 minutes to properly warm up by doing what 's called a dynamic warm-up. A dynamic warm-up gets me focused on what 's to come and it also helps mitigate the risk of injury while lifting. Before this workout, I was very stressed about all of the studying I have to do before the term is over.
What is the premise of the article in three statement Answer: i. General adaptation syndrome (GAS) theory of periodization involve adjustment of volume, intensity and frequency to help athlete to adapt to a variety of physiological stressors. ii. In view of preventing overtraining and aiming for the best performance, progressive periodization will be the right choice.
