Having the same best friend forever can get boring, I guess. It 's not that I wanted another friend. I just really liked her brother. Junior year of high school, not as great as I thought it would be. I had my best friend, Blair. She was great, but she never wanted to do anything fun. She was just obsessed with her grades and her new boyfriend, James. I have to hand it to her, he was pretty cute, but I had my eye on someone else. His name was Liam, and he was new that year. He had a twin sister named Jane who seemed pretty nice, so I made this plan. My plan was to become friends with Jane. That way, I could get closer to Liam, and hopefully, he would fall in love with me. It would all work out perfectly. Jane invited me over that …show more content…

“I am hanging out with this guy. You wouldn 't know him anyways, so it doesn 't matter,” she said very abruptly almost like she knew something. I did not know why she wouldn’t tell me, but I didn’t say anything else about it because I wanted to stay on her good side. “Hey, what do you think of that new girl, Jane?” I asked her. “I don’t know,” she quickly said. “She is good at soccer, I guess.”

She asked, “Is it because I’m going out with Liam? I know you used to be obsessed with him, but I thought you were over it by now.”
I said, “I was never obsessed with him, and you should not have taken him when you knew that I liked him, Blair!”
She replied, “Well, you shouldn’t have taken James!”
I said, “I’m sorry, Blair. I did not know that it would affect you this much.” But I knew it would. I saw James and Liam after school and went up to them to talk. “Hey, Liam, do you actually like Blair?” I asked. “I did but not anymore. She is kind of a brat,” he said. I totally agreed. James chimed in, “Hey, Hailey, are you ready?” I nodded. He took my hand, and we went to the movies. We had a lot of fun, and I forgot about all of the jealousy I had for Blair and all of her boyfriends. The plan didn’t succeed, but in the end, I guess, I got what I wanted all
