The “ Best Self Exercise” is a tool that assists in identifying strengths, competencies, qualities and attitude by analyzing others positive feedback and recalling your best self-moments. It enables you to create your best self-portrait, on which you will rely on to further enhance your strengths and elevate your weaknesses. In this essay I will share my experience with the feedback, my best self- portrait and compare it with the VIA strengths results, and reveal my ideal future trajectory. At the very beginning, I was kind of embarrassed to request only strength-based feedback, it sounded like I am fishing for compliments. But, when I received the feedbacks, which were supported by stories, that sense of compliment disappeared. Instead, …show more content…
Referring that strength to my best self-portrait, I believe it can be seen with the expression “I am a good observer with analytical thinking, who is able to evaluate situations, investigate the root causes of certain problem or success and give straight answers.” Moreover, I believe that being a good listener gives me the strength to be objective and insightful with my advice to others. My second strength in the VIA survey is honesty or authenticity. It is strength of courage where you have to present yourself genuinely to others and to be sincere in your action. Being honest means being truthful, responsible and committed to your words and promises, to be authentic and align your deepest values with your actions. That strength can be matched with the expressions “Accordingly, I speak up my mind genuinely and express my sincere opinion, as long as it stands for what I believe.” And “I take ownership, responsibility and the commitment to achieve the …show more content…
By doing so; I will feel more obligated to avoid the influence of zest, self-regulation and perseverance since ownership will make me more responsible toward my self and others to finish what I have already started and will not allow negativity to prevent my persistence. In the process of achieving the shared vision, I am planning to spend more time in team building activities in social events with an effort to create more fun and casual environment to left up my sense of humility and humour characteristics. By doing so I am employing my signature and middle strengths to overcome my lesser strengths limitations. I believe this plan will be a step toward my ideal self to be a resonant leader and an agent of change. What worth noting is that such exercise dives deeply into one’s personality, which makes it a supportive tool for OD practitioners to facilitate their role as helpers, for instance in their one on one coaching sessions, in training their teams or even with leaders to manage stress and
“My attitude is if you push me towards something you think is a weakness, then I will turn that perceived weakness into a strength” Michael Jordan. Knowing your weakness and strength is an important thing in life. It can help you succeed by knowing the things you need to improve. In writing, my strengths are in the content of my papers and the conventions.
Benjamin Franklin wrote Poor Richard’s Almanack, which consisted of wise aphorisms, or sayings. “Honesty is the best policy” is one of his sayings that is universally recognized and encouraged. This phrase signifies the importance of being a moral and truthful person Honesty is an important and admirable characteristic that a person can have. A situation in which one must be honest occurs on a day-to-day basis. However, today it seems that lying is a more common alternative that is incorporated in lives because it is the easy way out.
True strength is holding it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart. I remember the night of January 29th of this year like it was yesterday. It was around seven o’clock and I was in my room anxiously going through my notes and different cases in preparation for my grade eleven law exam the next morning. I was halfway through reading about the Miranda v. Arizona case when my father opened my door and reminded me to get ready for my MRI scan at Sick Kids Hospital.
Looking at each individual strength, I am reminded of different aspects of my life where that strength is used. My first two of Futuristic and Context are very interrelated in my mind, and without question are two of my biggest strengths. It seems as though most of my time is spent either reflecting on past events or thinking about what is to come in the future. I examine what I and others have done in the past to see what worked and what failed. I then take that into account whenever I make future decisions.
No one person is the same as another, we all interact, behave, think and feel differently, and I think this is what amazes me the most. One strength that is substantive to my career that I believe I have, is empathy. I have always had such an efficacious sense of empathy with the people around me.

Nevertheless, it is the way that friction is approached that makes a difference. By applying my positive attitude and sense of finding a common ground among coworkers, it will enable me to apply this strength to my daily life. Lastly, the strength of achiever was a lesser theme for me compared to my other top strengths. I sometimes take on too many tasks and want to accomplish many things in order to make me feel good about myself. I am extremely committed to everything I do and influence others to succeed in what they do.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, honesty is the quality of being fair and trustful. I have always wondered why people succeed and are considered of great importance. Many tend to succeed through illegal paths, which will vanish faster than they think. Real businessmen build their heritage slowly, step by step through honest actions and decisions. A person who’s honest is not weak or fragile, instead, dares to practice honesty, to be considered trustworthy, and to be transparent in everything they do.
The first strength identified by this author is his creative nature. His independent thinking exterior to a six-sided container, although humorous, does avoid colloquial expressions. The third and most important strength this author has is his ability to properly

My strategy is that I want to maintain my strength, overcome my weaknesses and threats and take advantage of the opportunity. My strengths are my calm and observant personality.
Earlier in my organizational behavior class as previously mentioned, I did a Myers-Briggs analysis of myself that identified my strengths. What I discover with this analysis that I was introvert, sensing, feeling and judging. My traits are similar to famous individuals such as Mother Teresa, Tennyson the poet, and General Robert E. Lee. Wow, what a combination this is for me. This has allowed me to see my plan from a right respective and as well as, how it may affect others.
Strengths: As a student one of my strengths is organization. I can say I can keep my school materials and notebooks organized in a way that I and others can comprehend. The reason I can say I am organized is because, I have hardly ever had in the past or present any issues with trying to find homework or assignments because I always kept my materials for each class organized and in a place I could easily find. Another strength I have is social skills. I can believe that I communicate with others well in a group.
