Why I wrote this, I don’t know. Or maybe I do. But when I think of it, it was to never let the memories be forgotten. I wanted them to live through pen and paper. It’s also entertaining, to write. The ground rules? Huh. I don’t put limits. I wrote every single detail. The 28th February was my birthday. The day this project began. I expect to forget all about it tomorrow. It was a project I wanted to begin a long time ago, but whatever. Now I’m beginning. So I woke up late, ran to school (thank you for thinking my life is a cliché). I was so happy for the ring. “Let’s say it’s a birthday gift from me,” father winked. “Thank you so much! It’s simple and beautiful, and fits every finger-size,” I told him with my overly happy eyes and wide smile. “Thank you,” I hugged him this time. My father got to work after having a fight with my mom about something I don’t remember, and he took Mustafa and Aseel with him. Mother took to the doctor. Batoul got to school. I changed clothes while listening to some music. I checked my ring every now and then, hoping I haven’t damaged it. That’s the first ring I ever liked. I sang and danced all day. Not because of the ring, but I usually do that to have a great time. Time went by with the dancing and singing. It was evening. Mother and father came home. And they fought again. About mother’s phone. Mother wanted to make a clear list of the products to my birthday party. We planned to buy it today, but we cancelled it, because my mom was too tired, and father didn’t give me the money yet.
