I want to improve the CPS systems especially, because of work overload a lot of children are suffering. Eventually, I would like to open my own agency that will not only empower and/or encourage children to be there better self but will also secure them a future in life. An agency that is truly going to bring in positive and great results and would not consist of burnouts/work overload. Experience as a Student In undergraduate school, there were a lot of good moments, as well as struggling moments. There were times that I wanted to quit, but that was not
It’s been a rough journey trying to find a career that I am interested in for my profession. When I discovered occupational therapy, I didn’t know much about the field. A family friend of mine was the one who introduced, because I always knew that I wanted to work with families and infants. I then did some research and found occupational therapy that specializes in infants. I wasn’t aware that you could be an occupational therapist that works with infants, until the end of my senior year of high school.
The author of this narrative is Alison Melotti-Cormack. The title of this narrative is “The Gestures of Grace.” This narrative is about how teachers started and how they became successful. Alison Melotti-Cormack stated how she didn't want to be a teacher but she loved learning and everything about it.The main idea of this passage is to tell what a good teacher is and what you can do. In other words it is saying that even if you don't want to do something. It is also saying that you should try new things if you love something ,like learning, then you should become a teacher because you won't regret something you love.
I can also compare my strengths and weaknesses to make a personal development plan to provide myself with motivation but this can also allow me to deliver a high quality service to the children and their parents during transitions, such as; delivering empathy, coping mechanisms and education. Consistency is key and I will be consistent with my behaviours and delivery to help the children progress and reach their full potential therefore I will continue carrying out observations to keep parents informed of their child’s progress when beginning school and throughout the year. I believe I have learned from my chosen theme on transitions. Beginning my essay I was nervous writing about transitions and this scared me from investigating different transitions that occur for children and how to support them. When I began to think of my own practice and investigate websites it give me a foundation to complete the essay but to also apply changes to my own
Her education I think changed a lot she went to school , But she knew sooner or later they would move again, without her dad she wouldn’t be able to know as much information as she did going to school but she learned a lot from her mom and dad. Quote: “He told us about the magic qualities every number has and how
Mostly because in order for me to succeed I need to bring in others: teachers and other students. I would involve teachers because my present and future teachers in high school are the ones that are going to help me achieve my green light to go to UNLV. Also, my future teachers in college/university are the ones that are going to help me succeed as and become a teacher. I would involve other students because having friends is a huge part of the school experience and how someone will interact with different people. Having communication experiences is something that is needed no matter what is happening in someone's
School and being involved in the community is something I feel like everyone needs. These two things help people to become more open to bigger opportunities. I feel as if you should start young in community activities, such as girl scouts or being involved with soup kitchens. School is not well-liked by everyone, but it is something that everyone should have on their record. People who do not complete high school should at least try to accomplish their GED.
I was told at a young age that education was the key to success and from that point on I made it my main priority not to be the average student among those that settle for less but to be a outstanding student that rises to every occasion to take advantage of my education. I do not that not let any setbacks or obstacles interfere with my education. I have maintain a 3.7 GPA despite of my after school job during my junior year. My mom told me during my tenth grade year that my junior year was going to either make me or break me. She explained I had to be really on top of my studies and I had no room for small mistakes.
For my educator one-on-one assignment, I choose to interview Sara Dotty, who is my host teacher at Marcy Open School. When I was given this assignment, I started to think of who I could interview and I was thinking of my high school teachers. But then I started to think how I could connect more with the 3 grade students that I’m working with, and how I could get to know them better. So, I decided to interview Sara because I thought that if I get to know my host teacher better I will be able to connect with the students more. What surprised me about Sara was that she did not major or get her license in education when she was in college. She graduated with a business degree.
Along with her teaching, Liz is also a sponsor for the K-2 Lego League and a member of the Climate Committee. When I asked Liz what made her want to become a teacher she stated that she chose to become a teacher so that she could come back to where she was raised and make a positive impact on her community. Liz also stated that she was actually able to come back and teach at the elementary school that started her love for teaching. While Liz has had many interesting experiences as a teacher, she said that her most interesting, so far, was having her son in her class. She told me about how it took both her and her son a while to adjust to go from being mother and son to student and teacher.
