My Childhood

Like every childhood, it goes without saying that my childhood was full of adventure and lesson, from both Africa and America. I grew up in the west part of Africa, in a country called Ghana, with both my parents and two sisters. I am the oldest out of all my siblings, making me their second mother in case of her absence. I attended St Leo International School, there we learnt about the real world.

• My school taught me how to work in a team, cooking food, being responsible. In this school, I also learned about how the real world works. How life without our parents to depend on felt like, but in all I learned hard work is the key to success in life.

1. I went to a catholic private school that accepted boys and girls from age

Through this that I experienced a very dangerous adventure, that almost caused me my life.

1. Every morning, she and I wake up at four-thirty every weekday. Since she was still young to take care of herself, I had to be there for her. After getting ready for school, we walk for about ten to fifteen minutes to the taxi station. After getting dropped off by the bus, we walk another twenty to school. After school, we do the same thing just reverse and sometimes there is no taxi to take, leading to us walking for an hour and a half.

2. I recall that day like a broken record player. I remembered my sister being sick that day, so I was by myself that morning. I remembered taking a different route than my usual one with my three other friends after school. We were busy talking; nevertheless we stopped by the crossroad. The first car stopped for us to cross, I remembered crossing the road, out of nowhere came another car that sped towards us. It happened so fast that I lost consciousness. How long? I don’t know. But I do know I woke up in the same car, everything was still disconnected. I remember telling them my mother’s number and losing focus after. By the time I was aware of my surroundings, my mom was already there. But I guess, I didn’t get any injury since I was release the same
