“Gabriella, Wake up!” my mum called out while making breakfast for the family, “You really have to go to school today!”
I grunted in response and lay down there for a few more minutes before gingerly getting up to get ready for school. It had been a week since I last attended school and I usually spent the whole day camping out in bed occasionally getting up for water or a toilet break.
I walked up to the bathroom mirror and almost didn’t recognize the person in front of me. The girl in front of me had bloodshot eyes probably a result of excessive crying, messy, wild untameable hair that seemed to never have touched a comb for a long time and an expression that seemed so empty that it was missing from life altogether. I sighed as I threw my frizzy, raven-coloured hair into a ponytail before stepping in the shower. Unlike my usual routine of using eyeliner and mascara to bring out my hazel eyes, I settled for leaving the house without putting any makeup on. You can’t bring out eyes absent of any element of life and happiness. I bid my parents goodbye and start walking out of the house. My parents look at me with pride in their eyes and I return it with a feeble smile. I start walking towards school and sighed as I wished I could skip school today. Why is today, such a special

It had a sweet heart neckline with netting serving as a thick strap on the left shoulder. The dress screamed elegance and beauty at the same time matching my calm but fun-loving personality. For herself, she made a shimmery black dress with a tight bodice and a sleek skirt hugging her body at the right places making her look flawless. The dress also had a few slits lines with silver glitter at the sides, exposing bits of her tanned stomach. The dress matched her personality too giving off a simple but slightly edgy
In her essay “Me, My Sleep, And I”, writer Priscilla Srikanth argues that high schools should start later in the morning to ensure that students are well rested, energized, and focused during the school day. She accomplishes this by utilizing rhetorical questions and an anecdote that allow the reader to reflect on their past experiences with the idea of a late start, a logical fallacy that encourages the reader to view the situation from the writer’s perspective, and an appeal to logos to further strengthen her argument. Leading into her essay with rhetorical questions, Srikanth urges the reader to ponder about times that they have felt like never leaving their cozy bed. In this way, the writer creates a sense of likeness between herself and the reader. By appealing to ethos through an anecdote, she shows the reader that she too has experienced the struggle of getting up every morning.
The lunch bell rang loudly in my ear as I packed up my materials from math class. As soon as Mrs. Millie released our class, I raced everyone else in our grade to my locker so I wouldn’t have to wait in the back. I quickly entered the combination into my lock, snatched my lunch box from the top shelf and met up with Whitney by the cafeteria doors to get a good table that wasn’t in the back corner where we normally sat. “So, how have you been since...
In my novel, “Uglies” the protagonist is Tally. Near the beginning of the story she shares her desperate wants of being a pretty, and even more so because she feels all alone without her best friend. She even breaks one of the most important rules, which is to stay inside Uglyville, but she can’t help her desire to see Peris again. Fortunately she didn’t get caught The antagonists in my novel, is a group called Special Circumstances.
At 5:45 AM the alarm on my phone blared some generic default tone that I had never gotten around to changing. This was probably the earliest I’ve ever gotten up in my entire life. I groggily removed myself from the pile of blankets on the floor that I had been sleeping in and headed for the shower, brushed my teeth, washed my face and searched my near empty closet for something to wear on my first day of school. Although I was absolutely exhausted and there was yet to be any furniture in my room, I was thrilled to be transferring to Pattonville High School in midst of my junior year and living in a bigger house in a better community.

It was 7:05am on a Thursday morning, when I had woken. I lied down in my bed gazing at the ceiling as my obnoxious alarmed screamed at me to get up and prepare for another day of school. I was beyond exhausted. It was November 17th. Thanksgiving break was just around the corner waiting for me to relax and get my mind off the prison we call school.
Something such as returning back to school was long gone and in my past goals. After a couple of years I never thought I would end up going back to school since everything that I wanted was going good and according to plan. However sometimes we are faced with tough situations where we must find other resources in order to improve and better ourselves. Going back to school was one of the most important and wise decisions that I have ever made. Finding well-qualified candidates for a job or career nowadays is a challenge, especially in the field that I am currently in; law enforcement.
I was withdrawn from my previous middle school and things were rather calm at home I threw myself into my school work and found a sense of secret control threw self-harming and obsessive dieting it was rewarding to see the numbers go down on the scale, and up in the books. I was still withdrawn and sick I was just better at hiding it and the layers of secrecy in my life would build with age like the rings in a tree trunk. It was nearly the end of my eight grade school year before anyone intervened. The boy I sat at lunch with had tried killing himself the difference was, he warned people in his family and got caught plus help. He was put into therapy and on medication but I was also caught in the spotlight the school found out about my cutting
"Did you start yet? " I mumbled through a numbed mouth filled with medical tools. The doctor chuckled and replied, "I am actually almost done. " My mouth felt swollen and bubbly and I could not see his work at all.
The choice to return to school in and of it's self is one that requires a great deal of thinking, research, preparation, and decisions. During the mix of applying to schools and financial aid, we sometimes lose track of the degree of deication and commitment that is required once returing to school, myself included. This is my thrid time returning to school, primarly for this reason. Althought I have failed to complete higher education, up until this point, I have drawn out a success plan this time, before even beginning to look for a potential school, to ensure not just my success but that of my family as well.
Graduating High School A day I will never forget was the day that I graduated high school. All the emotions were overwhelming and hard to handle sometimes. It was hard to accept that one of the biggest chapters in my life was about to be over and I was about to start an even bigger one.
Have you ever felt uncomfortable, nervous, and confused ? These are all the things I felt moving to a new school. I had no idea if I would gain friends or if anyone would like me. Maybe if I had a tour around the new school before my first day I would have not been so disorientated. Going from a one story school to a two story school was hard, having to look down every five seconds to make sure I was on the right hall, or if I was suppose to be upstairs or downstairs.
Personal Narrative Essay Believe it or not, sometimes a gracious action can bring a huge influence on a person. When I read the introduction that instructor Heller wrote, there is a sentence she wrote: “Sometimes the most influential moments in our lives are smaller moments, events that we may not recognize as influential until years after the experience.” For some reason, I related to it strongly. My story is about my high school experience. Also, I will share some significant moments in my life, and how these smaller moments changed my personality.

I check my watch as I race to catch my first ever Austin Metro bus home. My metro bus ride to school in the morning proved disastrous. Taking the southbound rather than the northbound bus had left me confused while waiting for the return bus and embarrassed while explaining the reason for my late arrival to school. It 's 4:33. Oh man.
