My experience doing internship at this department has made me realize that there are more to engineering than what I expected. I have always considered the job description of an engineer is about manufacturing a product. Never did I consider that there more to the sector. Industrial engineering is important for the company to be able to function. Industrial engineers ensure that every resources are made to full use and that there are no loses. I find industrial engineering is an interesting job prospect. It is suitable for someone that enjoys problem solving and is versatile.
I observed that the workplace is very diverse be it in the field of work or nationalities. Different departments all in the same office ensuring that with their qualification and expertise they are able to synchronize and ensure that there are smooth execution of tasks to satisfy the customers’ expectation. Working constantly as a

I was assigned to the assembly side for this task. After the basic introduction, my mentor, in charge of assembly, brought me to the assembly line. It was an eye- opening experience as I have never been to a cleanroom. It was fascinating to find see in action how a semiconductor is manufacture. She introduced me to the various machine needed to create a single die. She explained the processes and the science behind every machine that is involved in the line. Also she introduced to me the task that I was supposed to do. I was needed to collect data to be use in time study. The data collected will then be used by her to find the UPH (utilization per hour).
My knowledge in Computer Aided Manufacturing and Manufacturing Technology and Practical has come in handy for me to understand how the process works. To see my ‘textbook’ subjects come to life have made me value the modules taught in school. The modules taught are put to use once you are in the industry and are not
Through years of following in my dad's shadows, and following directly in his footsteps, he led me right into the welding family. My dad welded his whole life and now works at a small shop making 32 dollars and hour, which inspired me to become a welder and follow my dreams of supporting a family and living a healthy life without worrying about payments. As I became older I began to realize the decision I had to make going into my junior year. While making a big decision in my life it was pretty easy considering the trips our school took to the CTC. Mr. Kearns talked to me for a little while by myself and he inspired me on the amount of money and the amount of jobs that are available in the welding field.

For my Diverse Field Experience this semester, I spent fifteen hours at the Mclean County Juvenile Detention Center. This particular center was occupied by about 8-14 juveniles at a time, all depending on court dates and occupancy of other nearby detention centers. This center usually had 3 staff members working the shift every time I went, which was seven to nine on weekday afternoons. I was intrigued to go to at this time because I thought it would be the time of the day were the juveniles had no school work or other obligations to do while I was there. I wanted to see what they liked to do in the free time before bed, the only stipulation being mandatory snack time at eight pm.
Lani: I was helping for someone’s project for COMM 245; I was in the video lab, in the studio. I was on campus and decided to contact everyone I knew who comes to the school. I remember I sent out a snap saying guys I think there is a shooting, be careful and then I started sending out individual texts to people making sure they were okay, like hey are you good? Stay out of an area.
This is a fun, exciting, and cheerful game. It has bunches of people watching others. It makes me feel good when I walk up to the plate. I always feel like I’m at home when I step onto the field. I play my position and have fun doing it.
It has been twenty years in the making to create myself. I started out sheltered. So to say, hidden from the real world. Being born and raised it out it the middle of a corn field was rough, but not what you would consider rough. It was all about take it or leave, or fix it or do without.
Career Narrative: Psychiatrist When it comes to the work force, we have many choices of what we can do, but, it is up to us to figure out what we want to do for the rest of our lives. My career goal is to become an Adult Psychiatrist, I want to be an Adult Psychiatrist because I would like to help people who cannot help themselves. I believe I would be a good fit for this position because I feel I that I have quite a few of the characteristics necessary to help people who need it the most. I would work to get the patient back into the world and to be a fully-functioning member of society. I would likely work at a psychiatric hospital because the people there would need the help the most, due to either being forced to be there, or they are
In a world that is so diverse, we get to interact with so many people from different cultural background. But, even though we have different family cultures, we adjust most of the time for work. Every workplace has their own culture of which we abide to provide for our families. Management creates their own values and practices for us to follow and anything outside of that is considered an objection which might be unethical and cause us our jobs. To function effectively as an organization, we all must work as a team.
I interviewed Sarah, she is a registered nurse at a hospital. For her job Sarah has to evaluate and record patient symptoms, help doctors during exams and surgeries. Her shifts are entirely dependent upon her patients and coworkers. A nurse’s day starts with reports from the nurse on the previous shift. The shift typically ends with Sarah filling out her own reports to enter into the system or pass on to the next nurse.
The two traits that have consistently separated me from most people my age is my work ethic and my focus. My work ethic mainly shows up in sports, and business as those were more of a focus for me than school. Growing up I had a love for basketball, I was not the tallest, strongest, or most athletic kid on the court ever. But I had more heart, and desire than anyone on that court. It showed in my high school career.
“Set,” Bang! The gun goes off and I quickly shoot ahead of the rest of the field. My strides long and quick as I sprint for the track. I can’t hear anyone behind me, I must be a good 10 meters in front of everyone else. I run around the track and continue to sprint across the field back to the crowd of parents, friends, and girls soccer players who were forced to attend this last cross country meet of the season.
I decided on my project by my first idea not pulling through and then I figured that my welding teacher had a project that needed to get done and since I took weld 1-2 and metal fab I am very qualified to do so . Mr. Kennedy did have a project to build a dunk tank for a co-e so that is what I am doing The first step that I need to do was go online for a few models types that Mr. Kennedy could see and that Mr. Compagna could approve it. Then we went back to the computer to find out the measurements of the whole thing which Mr. Campagna thought it was a bit small so instead of 64 inches tall it will be 72 inches instead. I found my mentor by looking around.
My Worst Job When I was sixteen, one of my middle school friends named Jessica was a shift leader at dunkin she wanted me to work with her for the summer to have some extra money. It seemed like a lot of fun for the first week or so, but it turned out to be the worst job of my life. My job was the front cash register. This was fun I actually enjoyed it
My field experience consisted of attending 3 Newton’s high school volleyball practices and the end of the season playoffs. Upon arrival I was greeted by old friends that are a part of the program. The coaches were not there yet so it was the girls and captains responsibility to set up nets and begin practice. The girls socialized for majority of the time and waited last minute to put up the nets. Once nets were up they would began to stretch and warm up then begin practice without the coaches.
This module and coursework requirements were directed to present some crucial and effective experience for me. During the entire course, I had learnt a number of different learning, which can be proved quite helpful for me to build a successful and attractive career ahead. I can present the significance of the coursework activities done in terms of my learning from this subject. The reflection of the coursework learning can be presented as below: Problems faced during the research work: Although I have been able to finish my coursework requirements within the time frame.
