Hayao Miyazaki: A Great Artist

Not a lot of people know the name Hayao Miyazaki in the U.S., however, his work is well-known in the United States. He is a writer, animator, and director, where he has produced many animation films that have won many awards. For example, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle. These are my favorite animated films by Miyazaki. Hayao Miyazaki is a great artist, loves his work, and enjoys drawing. I personally think that Hayao Miyazaki is a great director and animator where he created a world of his own, and a legend for himself domestically and internationally as a leading figure of animation.

There he created a reputation for himself and directed and wrote many animations and screenplays. Soon afterward, in 1984, he founded Studio Ghibli. There he was able to produce the three sole films mentioned earlier. Other films that were released by Studio Ghibli are, My Neighbor Totoro, and Grave of the Fireflies. These films weren’t as famous as the other three, but they were memorable. They were influenced by Miyazaki’s past. Several decades later, in the mid-1900s, Studio Ghibli had met some difficult times, therefore, Studio Ghibli struck a deal with Disney and relieved their financial burdens. This allowed Disney distribution rights worldwide. Sadly to hear, in 1998, Miyazaki announced that he would be retiring due to his eyes. His eyesight was failing him, and didn’t think he could produce any more high quality motion pictures. However, recently, he has produced mini films. And established them at the Studio Ghibli Museum. Overall, Hayao Miyazaki achieved many great things. He was satisfied, and was able to pursue art that appealed to children as he always wanted. His work was successful and he established many artifacts. For example, his studio, Studio Ghibli, the Studio Ghibli Museum, great work he has created, the awards he has received, and his effort he made to several companies.
