When I was little, I loved learning about history. One of my favorite things I learned was from my grandpa about Scottish history and a bit about the history of our clan. I remember sitting next to the fireplace and listening to stories that my great-great grandparent told my grandpa. Some of my favorite stories I learned about were of Scottish folklore. Some of these stories I still remember to this day, like the story of William Bellcot the madman, or the heroic stand of Sir James were some of my favorite stories to hear. So, one place I would love to visit would be Scotland. The locations I would love to visit first would be all the famous Castles and Battlefields that are in Scotland. Another item on my to do list if I went to Scotland …show more content…
One of the first places I would go to would be a traditional Scottish competition where all of the men compete to see who is the best in certain physical activities. During the competition the outfit I would be in would be a traditional Scottish outfit with an kilt with my clan 's colors on it. One of my favorite competitions would be the wrestling competition where all the men wrestle to see would is the best fighter. I don 't believe that I would do well in this, but I would still love to participate. Tree climbing would be another competition I would love to participate in, but I don 't I will do this well cause I am afraid of heights and I have almost never climbed a tree. Tree cutting would also be a favorite of mine, tree cutting is where you try to cut down a tree with a axe and the fastest one to do it wins. Once, the competition was over and the winners declared I would head to the museums of Scotland to learn the parts about its history I don 't know much about. Some of these museums would be art and music, museums that show the greatest works done by Scottish artist. The museums of natural history that Scotland has would also be a go to, because I would love to learn what animals have lived and still live in Scotland. After visiting the museums in Scotland I will go to my final destination, a reenactment of the battle of Stirling bridge. The reenactment of Stirling bridge would be my final destination because it 's one thing to learn about history but it 's another to participate in it. So on my final day I would fight in the battle of Stirling bridge on the side and Scotland, and see what it was like for the brave Scots on that day. After, the reenactment I would pack all my things and head for the airport and go
I would want to go back to Roanoke to see what really happened to the settlers and to see if any of the theories that have been told are real or made
Kings Island Memoir… “Are you ready for this?” I asked. “As ready as I’ll ever be.” he replied. “Let’s do this!”
One warm Friday afternoon two summers ago, I was invited to go on a trip to Carowinds. I always wanted to go, so this was the perfect opportunity for me. To experience something, I have wanted since I was a little girl. I remember sitting on the sofa at my boyfriend’s house in their den watching tv and his mother came in talking to us about how she wants to plan a little trip to Carowinds. To get away for the weekend and have a good time and relax.
Story time was always something to look forward to when going over to my grandparents house. Every time my younger brother and I visited my grandparents, we were in for a treat as my grandpa told us stories of his time during WW2, and even going back further to the Enlightenment Period, the crusades, explorations, etc. “I wonder what grandpa is going to tell us today.” Joshua, my younger brother said- anticipation embedded on his face. After a couple of minutes driving we reached our destination - a brightly yellow painted house, with a big front yard that houses so many family of flowers, and a flag pole with the flag of the United States proudly sailing in the air.
but I did not just want to go as a tourist, I wanted to go to the parts of the world in which I could gather pieces of my soul. This was just the beginning of my
One of the most rememberable things in my life with nature is I killed my first deer. Early in the morning me and my dad got ready to go and we headed out in the woods. I was so tired. But when we got there me and my dad went through the trails. The grass was tall and bright green.
Broken Heritage My heritage isn’t peachy or as amazing as everyone else’s, it’s broken and there isn’t enough tape to put it back together. I had a lot of family around when I was younger, but they all eventually disappeared from my life without leaving a trace. My used to be grandma Tonya was my mom’s mom, but she was the worst of our family. She is the reason we don’t talk to half of my mom’s side of the family anymore.
Second we would meet the unbelievable Stephen Curry and pick him up. Third we would go to the marvelous Bahamas. When we were there for an day we would go to many parties and have a lot of witty. It would be a breathtaking moments. Then we would take and head off to Washington, DC to meet the one and only Donald Trump, the president of the United States of America.
2. What is at the top of your bucket list? - One thing at the top of my bucket list is traveling to every continent. Unfortunately, traveling isn’t something my family does, the only place we travel to is Egypt and then right back to Virginia. That is why as soon as I’m financially able to, then I will begin traveling to each continent.
My first reason that I would go to Hawaii is that Hawaii looks very entertaining. This is because I can see volcanoes, jungles, and lagoons. Another activity that looks interesting is a helicopter tour over the islands. The islands are also full of sugar cane and pineapple farms.
I visited the Breman on November 6th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. My first impression when I walked into the exhibit was powerful. As a walked in and saw those first few pictures of anti-Semitism, I was powerfully moved in seeing the plight that the Jews had to face. My emotions were solemn and contained. I wanted to be respectful for those who had been murdered.
The Transformative Trip Thomas Jefferson once stated: “If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.” People to People is an organization, which has a special component referred to as a student ambassador program. This program is responsible for teaching student ambassadors the importance of bridging cultural and political borders, through education and exchange, with the aspiration of creating global citizens, and making the world a better place for future generations.
One of Henry Thoreau’s great quotes is,“Our life is frittered away by details,” meaning that we spend most of our life focusing on small, inadequate details and forget to focus on the bigger picture. We forget to focus on the meaning of life and what it truly means to be alive. Emerson believes that the only way to figure this out is through nature. Thoreau spent a full year out of civilization to live a more simple life and to stop worrying about the little things. During my life I hope to find out what it truly means to be alive and what it takes to be one with nature.
The *New* Travel Guide to Stonehenge Stonehenge, a cultural celtic artifact with the weirdest of all of the theories ranging from aliens to possibly the apocalypse. No matter the literal abundance of littered words surrounding Stonehenge, no one knows what it is TRULY for. Though this most puzzling dig that 's been going on for over 40 years has shown some… well odd factors. Thus far it known how much Stonehenge has “changed” over the course of its study. With that said,Stonehenge, this six thousand year old artifact, has been a lively place for trading and religious rituals heading into the realm of solstice celebration, healing, sharing legends from Arthurian tales and challenging modern rationality with its ever deepening mysteries.
I am an American citizen and I have been living overseas for more than 26 years (over half of my life). I am currently the Head of Upper Primary Department in the U.K. managed Bell department of a well-known school in Bangkok, Thailand. I thrive in this educational management role and I thoroughly enjoy the school and everything about it. At nearly 52 years of age, I often wonder how I got to where I am now. After all, being a teacher is not a career that most people would consider a ‘dream job’, but it is for me.
