There are many genres of television that I enjoy. Horror, action, and sci-fi are amongst the ones I admire the most. If I were to choose my favorite genre, comedy would take the gold. Nothing beats laughing so vigorously that one’s stomach hurts. Out of all the comedy shows on television, the NETFLIX series The Ranch tops my list. It is my favorite show because of the characters, the location it takes place, and how hilarious it is. First and foremost, the ranch is my favorite show because of the characters. Jameson, his elder brother played by Danny Masterson, is the joker in the family. He does not take life seriously. After Colt left, he was compelled to stay on the ranch and help their father tend to the cattle because there was no one else to help. Then there is Beau. The Bennett family owned Iron River Ranch in the fictional town of Garrison, Colorado with a population of 512. To obtain a sense of how small it is, it has one traffic light. The ranch is located about 30 miles outside of the small town. Just far enough away to be self-sufficient if desired but close enough if you need to accomplish a run into town to grab some necessities. It reminds me of my uncle’s farm outside of Asheville, North Carolina. This is the exact kind of home people like myself dream of. It is one of the main sets the show takes place on ordinarily because every episode has at least one scene that involves the

Throughout this song Fiasco hints to events that occurred in his life, while encompassing generalizations so that his listeners are able to relate. Instead of disregarding his past, he embraces it in order to convey the message that it’s possible to accomplish anything regardless of the past.
