My heart pounded with excitement as well as nervousness. It was the first day of school. Second grade as a matter of fact. My older sister was heading off to middle school and seemed more anxious than I did as she was going to be in a whole new school building and would have to learn how to get around from class to class. That day turned out to be very different for me because it was the day that I met Maya.
After taking the customary first day of school pictures, I walked across the street to the neighbor’s driveway where the school bus was due to pick me up at any moment. As the big yellow tube pulled up, it was very loud and stunk of exhaust. The doors peeled open, and I was relived to see that it was the same bus driver from the previous year. I remembered her to be very nice and always commented on how cute my outfits were. As I walked down the aisle of the bus, I noticed that most seats had already been taken up. I was worried that there would be nowhere for me to sit. That’s when I spied an open seat that ended up not be totally unoccupied. As

We both couldn’t wait for recess so that we could talk to each other more, and by the end of that first day of second grade, we had pretty much decided that we were going to be the best of friends. That was our greatest adventure. We were two girls that had total opposite perceptions of each other upon first eye contact that first day on the school bus. We had not said a word to each other, but had formed different opinions in our minds of what we thought of each other. Had we not ended up in the same class sitting next to each other kept us from ever getting to know one another? I certainly would not want to turn back time to find out because Maya was truly one of the nicest, sweetest friends I have ever had. I will never forget the day her father told my father that we were like two peas in a
August 31, 2011. Got up for school that morning and was just going to be a normal day for me and the next day was going to be the exciting one. Getting on the bus and riding to school. I was not in school for two hours yet and I was in gym class.
The cool air swoops in and out behind me as the door slams close. Immediately I feel the pressure of hundreds of eyes glaring at me. I glide my feet down the school hallway, secretly hoping that today will be different. Today I can avoid all the drama and pain. I arrive at my locker and open it, only for it to be shut a second later by the wannabee herself Ms. Amber Jones.
Usually the bus takes us to school, we would compete, and the bus will drive us all back. I asked Mom to pick me up today, but she is working today. I stare out the window, watching the scenery outside pass by. There is a din growing inside of the bus, normally I would be a part of it, if I had a friend with me. The girls in front of me are talking about all the vacations they took when they were little.
What a cowincedient that the only seat I didn’t want was the seats in the very front. I got in anyways and prepared to die. Then my worst
At 5:45 AM the alarm on my phone blared some generic default tone that I had never gotten around to changing. This was probably the earliest I’ve ever gotten up in my entire life. I groggily removed myself from the pile of blankets on the floor that I had been sleeping in and headed for the shower, brushed my teeth, washed my face and searched my near empty closet for something to wear on my first day of school. Although I was absolutely exhausted and there was yet to be any furniture in my room, I was thrilled to be transferring to Pattonville High School in midst of my junior year and living in a bigger house in a better community.
I was raised in Arizona in the city of Phoenix. My Father used to work in a very small town call Cornville, Arizona, the town was about a two-hour drive from Phoenix. He would come down every weekend; sometimes he would stay for just the weekend and others the whole week. It was very rare that we would go visit just because any breaks that we had from school that were longer than two days, we would go to my grandmother house in Sonora, Mexico.
At the airport my friend Eduardo, since elementary school, and the coach from my college, picked me up at the airport. On the way to the college I was asking questions about the college to my friend because he knew better than I the college and the baseball team. I remember my first question that I ask Eduardo was that if the temperature became more heated because by that time the temperature was cold, and he said “Yeah, the temperature is going to get heated in a couple of weeks”, and I said “I hope so because I don’t like cold temperature”. We spend an hour to get to Clarendon College, finally I arrived and unpack my clothes and get everything really for my first day at College.
The day I had knee surgery. On February 14th my mother woke me up with a smile on her face to lighten the mood a little, because the next morning would be the day that I would have my first surgery ever. I was really clam in the morning like any other day. It really didn 't hit me that I would have surgery
My second day placement was completely different than the first one. I arrived late because of the weather. Once I met with my instructor Alison in acute care floor, she assigned me to work with the RN nurse Linda. Linda is very kind, thoughtful, and wanted me to be the there and she thought me the first thing to do, is use computer and read the patents vital sign, diagnosis and read night shift report.
I was still in Bookman Road Elementary school my 4th grade year, I had the same teacher who taught me for my 3rd grade year Mrs. Tammie Hunter and had the same best friends. When I ended my 4th grade year at Bookman Road I was told I’m going to a different school; being young I was very confused but when the new school year started I then realized what my mother meant by a different school. That morning when school was starting I was excited, I’m going to my favorite school around my friends I felt like my 5th grade year was going to be the best year but that didn’t happen. When I was going to get ready I noticed a blue collared shirt and a plaid skirt, I was thinking to myself Bookman never had clothing like this it was a public school we
Everything was great in my life, until one small thing effected my life and changed it forever, I thought it would effected my negatively, but really, if I could go back, I wouldn’t change a thing. Knew things were introduced, new people, and more experiences. I was anxious and didn’t know what would come from it. Or what caused it. Or what would happen to me and my sister.
The first day of middle school for me was both terrifying and exciting. I made a lot of new friends within the year. I remember the first day very well. I had woke up at 5;30 a.m. I was extremely tired.
August 14th, the day when it really hit me that I would be moving into college in one week. Up until that point I was really really excited! Although I was still excited the nerves started to kick in, I felt that I was not prepared to start a whole new chapter of my life and that there was still so many things that I needed to do, so honestly I started to panic a little bit, but that is just between me and you, no one else knew that I was stressing so bad. The Monday before move in day comes and now I realize that I seriously need to start getting ready, so finally I start packing everything in my room to make sure that I do not forget anything, but at the same time I have no clue what to pack seeing as this is my first time ever packing for college. The day finally gets here, move in day, all at the same time I am nervous, excited, sad and happy.
That morning I woke up early as I had to be at school for 8am. I was very excited. When I got to school the buses that were to take us were already there and teachers were buzzing around making sure that everything was in order and that all students going had their consent forms. Before we left the teachers gathered all the students and told us to be careful, to stay together also for us to remember our manners, we also said a prayer as it was a custom seeing that it is a Presbyterian School. As we boarded the buses, my friends and I all headed to the back of the bus as it was considered for some
My first day of high school as a freshmen in a new level of education Is what I was thinking when I woke from slumber that morning in bed. Stepping foot on the campus wasn’t even the beginning, taking the school bus in the morning is where the first taste of being a freshmen and actually starting and being an high school student. I started to get really nervous and a sense of reality hit me. Walking towards the bus stop all I see is a huge group of high school students waiting around for the bus, calm and cool as I try to stay to be I approach the waiting area not knowing what to I’m getting into.
