Benefiting from the dramatic development of internet technology, big data has become the most popular topic at the moment and the concept of marketing has been refined with more diversity and possibility. As a final-year student at Zhejiang University, I came to realize that my future should be in marketing after weighing my pros and cons along with my personal interests. This realization came to form when I joined Enactus, a non-profit student organization in my sophomore year, where I was exposed to the cutting edge of business communication and witnessed how important preparation work in marketing could mean in the entire setting of a commercial project. With a wide range of curriculum in science, humanities as well as a specialized program in finance, I have sharpened my senses for further study in business through courses such as Management, Microeconomics, Corporate Finance, etc. To enhance my communication skills and expand my academic horizons, I took summer courses at UCLA and earned A for Communication Studies and Film and Television Directing, while harvesting deeper understanding of transcultural communication and stronger awareness of innovation. With a particular interest in marketing, I also took Marketing in Financial Market last year as an elective course and achieved a high score of 97%, to some extent showing my potential for future education in this direction. In the course Marketing in Financial Market, the real cases at home and abroad were analyzed by both groups and individuals. In matters of my field, I always take a more practical standpoint. I believe my competitive edge lies in my practical skillset and therefore devoted more time to extracurricular activities and social practice. For example, I served as team leader in the L'Oreal campus charity bazaar. In the Enactus World Championship China Commonweal Innovation Competition, I won Third Prize by implementing projects Saving Sleep and Agricultural E-Commerce. Additionally, the KPMG business analysis competition offered me a first-hand experience on analyzing the operation capacity of enterprises by introducing the SWOT model and putting forward corresponding solutions towards target issues. The more I came in contact with practice, the more clear my awareness of limitation became in gaining knowledge from textbooks. Due to my intense interest in strategic online advertisement and social media applications, in addition to my eventual goal of working in this industry, I sought out an internship at WPP(Kantar media cic), a market analysis company, where I use data fetching program to grab comments from Weibo, WeChat, bulletin boards and other social media.
