However, people also use romantic lyrics to share their happiness with others and help relieve another people’s grief when they are not happy. It’s also used as a bridge to connect hearts that are miles apart. Love is just like a coin that has two sides. It can be sweet and bitter, it can be clear and confusing, and it can be smooth and rough. When a person tosses the coin, he or she would have only one side. Similarly, while Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” …show more content…

Moreover, this song also called the “love theme from Titanic.” The Titanic is the blockbuster movie that tells the story of a tragic ship collision, and it includes an epic love story of a young man and a woman. Dion says, “Every night in my dreams, I see you, I feel you, that is how I know you, go on.” According to this line, Dion explains that if a person truly loves someone, it is impossible for a person to forget his or her loved one. For example, her love is already dead but she can feel him in her dreams and that is how she knows that he is still alive by heart. Even though he is dead, his love is still in her heart. Right after this line, she says, “Far across the distance, and spaces between us, you have come to show you, go on.” Looking at this, the listener can sense that she still loves and honor the dead person, but she didn’t stick in the past. …show more content…
Through music, people share their feeling of love, and love plays an important role in the person’s relationship. A good song encourages people and provides real meaning of life. A famous poetry Anthony Liccione says, “A false love, begins with the eye and soon spills from the eye in pain. Where a true love, begins with the eye and settles in the heart.” In the same way, Dion’s song expresses the realistic view of true love that eternally settled in the heart while poisons express love is painful and it gives negative sense to the listener. Therefore, Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” has a realistic view of love and it is not as
Young wrote this song about his 1948 Buick. This love song describes all of the hardships and good memories Young had with his car. Not only does Young love his audience, but he also loves the privileges he was able to receive. The privilege in this case was the Buick. Another love song he wrote was “Only Love can Break your Heart”.

In a society where songs with meaningless lyrics and repeated phrases gathers the most publicity, it is surprising to find songs that exhibit meaningful lyrics and thoughts. Unlike most hip-hop songs that contain useless repeated lyrics, Kanye West’s 2008 hit “Heartless” contains lyrics full of meaning. After producing this song, he was starting to approach the zenith of his career. This song became an instant hit for not only its soothing beats or sounds, but for its impactful lyrics that take the listener multiple attempts to really understand. This song tells the story of a tragic breakup between two individuals that cannot seem to get along.
My Theme Song Songs can connect with how we feel and our experiences. Music has been a major part of my life ever since I was just a toddler. For me music has helped me express what I am feeling and who I am as a person. My therapy has been music, it has helped me through almost every problem I have faced. With listening to the song lyrics, we can get a true understanding of what the artist is trying to tell us.
This paper will analyze Muni Long’s R&B hit song “Hrs & Hrs.” This song’s overriding theme is intimacy, and Muni Long sings about finding a lover she wholly connects with. She narrates that before she met her current partner, she had contemplated quitting love after several toxic romantic relationships (Long, 2021). However, she now wants to spend hours and hours intimate
We live in a society that has increasingly demoralizes love, depicting it as cruel, superficial and full of complications. Nowadays it is easy for people to claim that they are in love, even when their actions say otherwise, and it is just as easy to claim that they are not when they indeed are. Real love is difficult to find and keeping it alive is even harder, especially when one must overcome their own anxieties and uncertainties to embrace its presence. This is the main theme depicted in Russell Banks’ short story “Sarah Cole: A Type of Love Story,” as well as in Richard Bausch’s “The Fireman’s Wife.” These narratives, although similar in some ways, are completely different types of love stories.
Romance comes in all different forms and sizes, and Calbert understands that along with these she apprends why people fall in and out of love. Falling in love has a sense of vulnerability that requires taking risks that people are “willing to fail, / why we will still let ourselves fall in love,” in order to sustain real love. Calbert ends her poem with listing the romances with her husband and vows, “knowing nothing other than [their] love” because that is all that matters to her
Communication is a necessity to interact with others, but what some people don’t realize is that without communication we would be missing most media and entertainment. Communication is seen in everything we do and watch for example: movies, television, art, and music. The skills of communication are easily used to convey emotions and ideas to broad audiences. The Beatles are arguably the most popular band of the 20th century and their chart toppers conveyed various topics through song. An analysis of The Beatles’ song Yesterday reveals some of the communication skills used: relatability, intrapersonal communication, and self-feedback.
Beyond its role in the greater context of the plot, the song itself plays around with JFKDSLFJSDKLFJ. Lyrically, the song is quite bland. In particular, its imagery is clichéd: wedding bells, birds, roses, etc. However, this makes sense for someone who has fell in love for the first time. In addition, the repetition of the line “Till there was you” creates a lyrical base to which the previous line, referring to not being able to appreciate symbols of live, can return.
Love takes hard work and needs support and care in order to
Growing up in a society obsessed with the concept of sappy love stories, it is easy to find flaws with the unrealisticness of such accounts of love. Songwriter Taylor Swift contributes to the popular trend of mainstream love stories in her own composition, “Love Story.” Throughout her song, Swift effectively incorporates the use of various figurative devices to relate her own love story with that of the famous Shakespearean lovers, Romeo and Juliet. Swift conveys the strength of her forbidden love, in similarity with that of Romeo and Juliet’s, through the use of metaphors, hyperboles, and allusions. First and foremost, Swift uses clear examples of metaphors throughout her song to maintain the resemblance of Romeo and Juliet’s love story with her own love story.
The song “Every Rose has its Thorn” by Poison talks about a failed relationship between a failed relationship between a man and a woman, and while the man was trying to figure out what he did wrong, he finds out that “[he] never meant that much to [her]” (Poison), which completely destroys him. According to Poisons lead singer, Bret Michaels, this song was actually written in response to a failed love affair with his girlfriend, Tracy Lewis. Lewis allegedly was cheating on him when he was on tour and the next day he wrote this song. The mid-1980s rock band, Poison, uses literary tools, such as natural imagery, metaphor, simile, and juxtaposition in their song, “Every Rose has its Thorn,” to show that in love, there is always going to be conflict, because naturally beautiful moments contain flaws.
Although she does not want to, their is a part of her that wants to be with him and is jealous that he has found another woman to love. This song is giving the audience a lesson that we are all strong and that it is always possible to be happy even when it does not seem like it. Despite how strong she is, she still hurts and speaks to her ex who left her broken hearted. “I heard that you 're settled down, that you found a girl and you’re married now,” they broke up and Adele is having an onerous time getting over him. While he is married and now moved on to new things in his life, “I heard that your dreams came true.”
The song I choose for this assignment is, "I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl" composed by Nina Simone. The original version by Bessie Smith is considered a hokum, due to its humor and sexual and innuendos. The adapted version by Nina Simone revised the meaning of the song to be more aligned with romantic longing rather than sexual intimacy. As a result, I am better able relate to the message of this song. The reason being, is that I currently desire to be in a serious romantic relationship.
Love can exist as affection, infatuation, obsession, pleasure and in many other ways, as love is abstract. Hence, there is no one single interpretation of love. Love is a theme that has been embedded into language and literature over the centuries, yet due to the ever changing perception of love people continue to search for a universal definition of love. Poems are able to showcase the inner feelings and desires of a poet as well as their own unique views on love. Nevertheless, through poems “La Belle Dame sans Merci” by John Keats, “My Last Duchess” by Robert Browning, “Mother in a Refugee Camp” by Chinua Achebe, “The day is gone, and all its sweets are gone!”
