My ideal future career is to be an interpreter. All the time, I have to cope repeatedly with a bunch of questions. Most of them are about 'Why it has to be an interpreter? ' or 'Why don 't you choose another job? It is quite tough and tiring. ' My answer is literally simple; I love interacting with people and enjoy working with language. Moreover, for me, being an interpreter is metaphorically a hero in real life. The hero who helps people through his or her excellent command of the language. If my language ability can assist those who need, I am pleased and willing to help them as much as I can. Interpreters and translators are also in high demand since they play many crucial roles in our lives, including diplomatic relations, business, healthcare, and even entertainment industry. When someone speaks of South Korea, I become enthusiastic. It is an indisputable fact that for many years up until now, the so-called ‘Hallyu’ or K-POP Wave, has rapidly spread throughout the globe. Thanks to all types of the Korean entertainment, I got to know South Korea much better and increasingly fell in love with this fantastic country. Hyeonseo Lee North Korean Defector Change, hope, and justice, are all things North Korean defectors, including Human Rights activist Hyeonseo Lee, wish for in the harshly governed country of North Korea. Many people know about the story of Hyeonseo’s escape from the unethical dictatorship of the Kims. But she was so much more. As a Human Rights activist fighting for a change of the corrupt and cruel system of government in North Korea, she is trying her best to inform people of how terrible and a dire situation it is in North Korea. Through this, she is showing her defiance publicly towards North Korea, when just a little over a decade before, she was expressing absolute loyalty and respect towards the Kims.
There is an old Moorish proverb that reads, “He who does not travel, does not know the value of man.” That quote resonates deep within me because I have a yearning to use my education to empower those in need. In order to do so, I need to see and experience the world outside of the one I am accustomed to. Curiosity is one of the traits that define the person that I am; because of this trait I always ask questions about the world around me and the people I meet. This is one of the driving forces behind my desire to venture outside of the United States to learn a new language and culture.
My short-term goal is to find a new job. I like my job right now but it’s starting to take a toll on me. I work at an assistant living for over 4 years now, and I’m starting to get attached the residents. Some of the residents I got the closes with have passed away or moved into a nursing home.

Working in different settings and meeting new people that need to be taken care of has always interested me. The job I want to have while I go to college is the very challenging role of a Medical Assistant. Due to the experiences that have happened in my life, I believe that becoming a medical assistant is the best career choice for me. There are many duties and responsibilities I will have as a medical assistant.
I like to be organised and I can work well under pressure which I have shown through previous employment. I grew up surrounded by different languages in Switzerland. I am completely fluent in German, French, Spanish and English. You probably question yourself: “what is this person doing in studying Dentistry if she has the brain for languages.”
During this semester, I gained a lot of skills and knowledge about interpersonal relations. As a human being, as a member of the "global village", everyone need to communicate with others. It is important to learn how to communicate well and how to build a healthy and positive interpersonal relationship with others. Like the textbook’ name “Looking Out Looking In”, we looked in the communication itself, looked out the language barrier, nonverbal messages and effective listening, and looked at relational dynamics. I learned and recognized about how environmental factors can impact our communication.
The question my mom would always ask me is,”What do you want to be when you grow up.” I really never have an answer to that kind of question. I always think do I want to be a special agent or a NFL player. But instead I chose a random career, but I did use to like the career. The career I had chosen to be when I get out school is to be a carpenter because I liked this job since I was little, and to earn a good living in my future.
Considering your lifetime goals, discuss how your current and future academic and extra-curricular activities might help you achieve your goals. My lifetime goal is to travel the world and study how different cultures influence the business of fashion. I believe through exploring varying cultures and exchanges, I will be an asset to stores, magazines, or film productions. As excited as I am to see the beauty, learn about the history and study the design, I am really eager to learn how to run a successful business.
As each year passed, I realized how much my family members have deteriorated. Whether it was through mental health or physical health, it seemed as though someone was constantly at war with their personal health. For this reason, I want to educate myself on what causes people to get sick and how it affects them internally. As a result, I chose Microbiology as my major. The knowledge I gain about microbes and their effects on human beings will allow me to undergo the research needed to help defend the population against them.
When I was younger I would just say whatever came to mind but now it was time to get serious. Everyone was always hounding me for picking a career and pressing me into making a choice. Now since I’m in college it makes everything even worse. This made me scared of my future and not living up to expectations. I know that most of them are doing that because they want me to have a life they couldn’t have.
One of my future goals and the most important one is to become a doctor. It is my life dream, and the only thing I am seeking for. Doctor is someone capable to save and help others life in ways that are not possible in other careers. Being a doctor for me is not just like any job, it is achieving a dream I have since I was 6 years old. One of the main reasons I picked this major is my family; my family members are almost all doctors, and my dad too.
