I 'm trying to imagine a life without you──it 's like living in a desert without food, water, clothing, and shelter. How horrible! You 've made, and continue to make my life easier. With you, I can play games, surf the internet, watch videos, read e-books, make calls (video and voice), and listen to radio and music player, just to name a few. No doubt, however, you can have some negative impact on me when misused. Health experts have warned that radiation from you possess a serious health risk such as cancer, brain tumors, headaches, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and fatigue. Also, light from you can lead to problems with my vision (Repacholi, 2001; Mustapha & Awoyemi, 2007 ). Thus, in the words of Dr. Myles Munroe: "When a purpose is not known, …show more content…
You made my navigation from the bus station to my destination less daunting.
Also, you 've helped me save time, money, and reduce stress during any business transaction. I can shop online, pay utility bills, and check my bank account details, without necessarily walking to the counter. For instance, I recall buying some of my textbooks from one the online retail stores. Not just buying, it was delivered in less than 5 working days to my doorstep. The interesting part of all these was that: I did the whole transaction, through a mobile application developed by the online retail store. How sweet that was!
Lastly, in March, 2014, you saved my life and valuables from robbers in my school hostel. I was able to put a call through to the private security guard employed by the school authority through their helplines. Informing them of a robbery operation in our flats by a group of bandits who were carting away the belongings of students and inflicting injuries on those who tried to resist. That simple call I made through you, alerted the school security operatives, who swung into action. They pursued the fleeing robbers and caught one of them, with the rest escaping with gunshot wounds. Luckily, however, the robbers didn 't get to my flat before they were engaged in a gun duel by my school security guards. I was lucky not to have lost my valuables──laptop, mobile phone, and little cash. If it wasn 't for you, maybe I wouldn’t have been alive, today. Or even if I was meant to be, maybe they 'd have inflicted severe injuries on

Public Health Problem Radiation is described as energy that is commonly found in x-rays, nuclear power plants, radioactive materials, sunlight, and in many more sources according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA, 2015). It can be used as a tool to diagnose and treat diseases. Although there are benefits of radiation, great exposure to radiation is a concern that may be linked to mutations, health problems, and even cancer. This is a problem in today’s society due to the social norms that influence the youth on beauty standards, which can lead to different forms of health issues.
After my tenth grade year, I was undecided if I wanted to go to college. I knew about the Move On When Ready program, but was not sure I wanted to be on a campus with most everyone being older than me, at first I wanted to take online classes. I also had to make the choice as to where I was going to attend. Proximity to home, and familiarity with the campus and professors is what determined this decision. I passed the ACT, and after considering my options, I chose to attend Darton State College because it offered me many new opportunities and experiences, and was conveniently close to home.
When I was in kindergarten, I did not have friends; my highs and lows oscillated on the approval of others who understood me even less than I did myself. For picture day, I remember being happy to wear my favorite shirt: a Strawberry Shortcake blouse with ruched sleeves. A girl deprecatingly told me I looked like a little kid. I never wore the shirt again. Although I already felt like an outsider, the situation worsened when I moved from Las Vegas to Hawaii.
Hi, my name’s Donovan. I’m 17 years old and graduated this year with honors. I was raised with Christian values in mind, and attended a Methodist school. I was raised in the Christian faith yet I find myself, as with some of my friends who were raised in the same conditions, we seem to be growing farther away from our upbringing as we age. I find myself simply not understanding as time goes by, a complete polar opposite from the song ‘Farther Along’.
These rays absorb into the skin and can lead to a cancer called melanoma. According to Alexandra Sifferlin, “The FDA reports that people who are exposed to radiation from indoor tanning are 59% more likely to develop melanoma compared to people who have never used indoor tanning before.” Because of this kind of radiation, using indoor tanning increases the rate of cancer by over 50%. Whenever people get melanoma by exposing themselves to these rays, it starts in one place and can spread to many different parts of the body. Whenever it spreads, it starts to become fatal because the whole body is affected with the disease. “This type of cancer kills an estimated 10,130 people in the US just annually.”
It wouldn't be so terrible if my beautiful wife and daughter were still alive. But they're not, and today is the one year anniversary of their deaths. One hellish year since that idiotic drunk driver crashed into them at 110 km at a crossway. They did not deserve to die that night, but they did. Since then I am not the same person.
A typical service learning day for me begins by ringing a buzzer which alerts the school officials of my presence and desire to gain admittance. Recent high school shootings and the escalated crime rampant in the area leaves school officials with few alternatives other than these meager attempts at security. Upon the security door granting me access I walk through a metal detector at the entrance and proceed to the front office. Upon front office arrival I sign in on their log book stating my name, business/school affiliation, and
The halls I miss you wearing my jacket I miss the holding hands I miss you sosososososososososos so much at school and I am reminded every
”(Bernard L. Cohen, Sc.D) Radiation occurs naturally in our environment; a typical person is, and always has been struck by 15,000 particles of radiation every second from natural sources, and an average medical X-ray involves being struck by 100 billion. They can penetrate deep inside the human body where they can damage biological cells and thereby initiate a cancer. If they strike sex cells, they can cause genetic diseases in progeny.
The biological effects of low levels of radiation have been investigated and debated for more than a century. The risk of cancer induced by radiation is the primary consideration of biological effects associated with diagnostic radiography procedures Ionising radiation has the potential to disrupt the structure of organic molecules in cells (Tubiana et al., 1990). Little question exists that intermediate and high doses of ionising radiation produce deleterious consequences in humans, including, but not exclusively, cancer (Pollycove & Feinendegen, 1999; Dickson et al., 2005). It is universally accepted that there is no safe level of radiation and even a single low dose exposure carries an associated risk and this risk increases with the dose received (Berrington de Gonzales and Darby, 2004).
After reading a few articles and doing some research on my own I have reached a valid argument to explain a few reasons why preventative measures need to be taken. In this essay I will first explain how radiation is bad for you skin and why we need to take these measures to fight for our lives. Then I will help educate you on how we can add a few things to our daily routines so we can stay healthier and happier in our everyday life.
Starting over Starting over might be easy when you are young, but if you are middle age and already have a stable and calm life, it is very hard to start over. My family and I moved from Egypt to The US three years ago, so we had to start from scratch. We found systems in the US are different from my country. After we found a good residence, our concern was finding employment. I was a science teacher in my country, so I tried to find a job in the educational field, but there were a lot of requirements to get a job as a teacher.
My number one greatest accomplishment was raising my four daughters on my own. (Opinion) Each of my daughters have graduated high school and have full-time employment. (Fact) Raising children as a single parent is a difficult task (belief) however, I kept each daughter focused on school and social activities enough so that they didn’t get into any legal trouble or become a teenage mother.
No Pill for Loneliness It was one hot summer day in 1998. I remember the year clearly because it was one year after mother left me for Paris. She was pursuing her career abroad and was only returning briefly to visit me and my grandparents for one week. I moved back to our own home to stay with her.
