My interest in computers started with video games when I was a little kid. I was interested in how a machine, made only of some metals was able to do so many amazing things such as displaying videos, running games, and other applications, and delivering an unlimited amount of information via the internet. Throughout high school, although I wondered how computers worked behind the scenes, I haven 't found many possibilities to explore these ways. My love towards mathematics throughout primary and high school and interest in computers made my choice of picking computer engineering as my major a very easy task. Later, in the university, I have found mathematics and theoretical computer science courses especially interesting to me. I have tried to grasp the concepts presented in these courses with great effort and enjoyed thinking about the world using them. Now that I am in my final year of study, and that I have gained experience about different areas of computer engineering and computer science through courses, projects, and …show more content…
Through my courses at Boğaziçi University and my exchange studies at KTH - Royal Institute of Technology, I have gained a good general understanding of topics that are compelling to me such as theoretical foundations of computation, machine learning, and numerical linear algebra. However, I wasn 't able to get an as detailed and deep comprehension as I would have liked. My main aim with a computer science master 's is to gain a much deeper and detailed grasp on these fields via research projects and work experience in addition to the coursework. After completing my master 's degree, I hope to possess an understanding that would enable me to apply these skills to real-world problems, and which would allow me to expand my knowledge by studying the latest research in the
Furthermore, the reading topics and video tutorials enhanced me with the knowledge of how the computer system is constructed, Self-Quiz helped me to review the knowledge learned in this specific week, and Discussion Assignment equipped me with the better understanding of the Boolean functions, composite gates, etc. In fact, I am thinking that I am acquiring the knowledge in the computer system by going through the above stuff.
My experience and proficiency with programming languages, linear algebra, algorithms and database concepts is supported by the following facts: Undergraduate and Graduate School Coursework: 1. In the 3rd semester of my undergraduate program, I had to take a C, C++ programming course and a programming lab. These courses introduced me to both the theoretical and practical applications of the programming languages. 2.
The standards of a Sterling Scholar, scholarship, citizenship and leadership have been exemplified in the way I have conducted my life through the following examples. I have never really excelled in academics. I believe learning the information is far more important than getting a good grade. Math, Science, and English are not my strong suits, but I’ve always loved working with computers. From a young age I’ve always been fascinated with technology and how it helps us advance as a society.
Unique courses like HLSC208 will enable me to explore my interests, and develop new passions that I can further explore.
In his article titled “I Am a Community College Student,” Terry O’Banion tells his own educational story and explains how he feels he is a community college student because of the great opportunities a community college can give students. They are affordable, close to home and Community oriented. Like Terry O’Banion I too am a community college student because without this opportunity, I would not be able to receive a college education. Community college is affordable it’s giving me the opportunity to attend college without stressing over the cost. I plan to become a lawyer and the length of time it take to do so is 7 years of college.
Improvement is something that is always welcomed in my family, my parents taught me to believe that you can be great but there is always room to be better. From a young age that has been instilled into my head and I continue to believe in it. From taking JROTC, the program has helped me to improve a lot over the two years. I began this year with low rated decision making and time management skills, this quarter I have improved. While I have improved in other areas I got worse in my self-esteem.
My plan is to attend a four year university full time at University of Washington Bothell and major in computer science field because I am passionate about working with technology, and I want to understand how we can continue to draw knowledge from it. In addition, I plan to attend graduate school while working in the computer science field after I finished with my undergraduate school. I want to be able to give back to the society for all the resources it provided me to reach this point in my education and continue working toward fulfilling my life goals. The Intro to Computer Science class at Roosevelt is helping me understand what it takes to be a computer science major student. One thing I learned from the class is that success comes from patience and effort.
My interests in technology did not come until later in my life; when I attended my first engineering and technology workshop. Back in the summer of 2012 I was accepted into the Rowan University’s Boys Engineering, Science, and Technology (BEST) Program. Throughout the event I was in awe and fascinated by what engineering had to offer. We built bottle rockets and constructed penny bridges, but what stood out to me the most was the hands on experience with computer programming.
Going forward a liberal arts education will be key for me to attain my goals. Specifically a Hollins liberal arts education. I am interested in pursuing pre-law, creative writing, art, and equine studies. At a typical technical based studies program I would be unable to study and learn what I 'm passionate about. It has been said that if you choose a job you love you will never have to work another day, and I fully intend to live my life with zeal doing what I love and am truly passionate about, and a liberal arts education will help me achieve that.
Education is very important to all of us as we decide what type of career we want. While I attended public schools growing up, I always thought about attending college. However, I became prepared for college when I attended Heritage High School through academic programs such as taking advanced placement classes, listening to advice from guidance counselors, and developing intelligent study habits to pursue my goals. One way I prepared for college while in high school was taking AP classes. Since AP classes are more difficult than standard class I had to put forth my best.
After carefully evaluating my abilities, desire to widen and reform my knowledge and aspiration to advance my career, I wish to pursue a Master’s degree in Computer Science at College. My goal is to work on the contemporary issues in the Information Technology industry and employ the knowledge to provide better solutions to the complex IT challenges. In the years to come, I envision myself as a lead architect designing systems which will get smarter and more customizable through interactions with data, devices and people. My whole life has been a multi-faceted learning curve which has prepared me to take the academic challenges of the graduate life.
PERSONAL STATEMENT My personal objective is to use my knowledge, experience, and skills with the intention of securing a professional Career with an opportunity for challenges and career advancement while gaining knowledge of new skills and Expertise. I have taken up every chance I have had to learn about computers through theory and also do practicals for the theory learnt Computers have been an important future of the day to day life as they have influenced the rapid changes in my country in the recent years, Information technology has brought practical solutions for the already existing problems in the country , I believe that this Master’s degree will help me attain my personal fulfillment and also be able to benefit the country at large, being able to help transfer different systems from manual to computerized . Information technology is a distinct science from information system management, computer science, and computer engineering. IT focuses on meeting the needs of users through the creation, application, and management of computing technologies.
Going to college to college can be a very stressful time theres many things to consider like what college will you go to? Will you be living at home or will you be living on campus? How are you going to pay for school? Then probably the most important question you have to ask yourself what are you going to major in? Choosing a major in college is very tough to do, because when choosing a major your basically deciding what you 're going to be doing with the rest of your life, and thats not an easy thing to decide on.
In view of such a global scenario I have decided to pursue my Masters degree in ‘Computer Science’, which I consider as a
Almost everyone has their own hobby; whether it’s a pastime, gathering certain things, or maybe something we take our time enthusiastically perfecting. In my opinion, I would have never thought I even had a hobby. In fact, I was not sure what a hobby was. Then I thought about it and appreciated that my hobby was gardening. Hobbies are enjoyable activities that give pleasure and recreation.
