As time advances, a trait that I believe that goes unnoticed is my ability to be a leader. Leadership is not a quality but it is ones behavior. A leader is qualified as a person that motivates others and inspires other individuals to aim for their highest goals. In addition, a leader passionately represents a positive attitude and high self-esteem. Furthermore, being a leader on the baseball team was just as important as the game.
Being the team captain on the baseball team was one of the responsibilities that I have encountered. I kept teammates focused on the game and picked up teammates when they were down. Although the disappointment of tearing my UCL, the role of my leadership did not change. Being an independent person has paid off, but expanding my horizons and investing my time in other people has made me realize what my priorities are. Staying focused in Madison will help with my studies and my goal of becoming a registered nurse. Parents wouldn’t notice how much hard work we put into the mornings, but we had goals to obtain. My teammates would whine and groan about the exercises, but I pushed them to their limits. In the back of my mind I knew we set goals for each other and I was going to do nothing but accomplish them. During these workouts they taught me as a leader to set goals and reach those goals by a certain deadline. While at Madison, I would set goals for myself and work hard to achieve them every day. With not only setting daily goals, I would also set long term goals to fulfil. Not only were my goals revolved around myself but I was also looking out for the best in my
Moreover, I have attempted to live my life in the same manner. At an early age, I learned the importance of academic excellence, integrity, leadership, and community service. My goals here at Alcorn include a BS in Elementary Education. I believe that this will help me give back to my community, improve my school district and become a better, well-rounded
My role was an instructor for citizenship classes. While teaching the classes I came across students not being a the adequate level. As a result, I had to modify the lesson to help the students adapt. Because I was teaching classes, extra time and work were put into preparing lessons. The inspiration aspect in this leadership role was mutual between the students and I. As the instructor, I felt obligated to make sure my students were kept motivated and determined to finish the course and pass their naturalization test.
Although I do not have a position in leadership yet, I believe that leadership does not only apply to large-scale events, but group work and responsibility in oneself's own actions as well. To me, leadership does not mean that someone can boss the entire group around, but to create a positive relationship with peers. Being able to build trust among your associates is the fundamental base of a relationship with the people that will be part of your life, which is also an essential part of leadership. I decided to join STEM, which allowed me to understand my potential with leadership. During group projects, we would make decisions together as a group, instead of separate individuals arguing over what to do.
Scholarship is a student's accomplishment in the classroom. It is the motivation to pursue higher-level information acquisition. My actions are guided by this inner urge to reach my ultimate objective. It is this push, which I think of as self-discipline or a powerful motivation, that continues urging me to continue on the path until I make the goal I have set out to do. I came to the realization that having the appropriate mentality was critical in order to attain my full potential on the first day of high school.
Initially, my entire high school career, I have worked exceedingly with every activity that I have done. The most significant lessons that I have learned so far in life were through my basketball and flag football career. Having to work with a group of people to win games and be successful, greatly put into perspective how and why teamwork is so important. Without teamwork, success is greatly limited. This is why on my team I always make that "extra pass" to involve my teammates and make sure that I hold myself accountable for doing my part. We all need to be included as a team to work together and hold ourselves accountable to giving our one-hundred percent as a team to expound on success.
His message is to never give up on your goals. He learned to sit goals early on in his career and to aim for those goals. Along with goals, it is also important to develop interest to grow as a person. Urbana 's interest include social media, charity work, lacrosse, and music.
Leadership is one of the most important traits to have, not only in school, but community too. In school I take up the leadership role by helping my classmates and answering their questions about a topic in class. I am a Senior High Student Council member; I have been an active member since my freshman year. I have helped plan and participate in events put on by the council to ensure things run smoothly. Last year as a freshman, I was chosen to attend a leadership conference at St. Cloud State University and We Day at the Xcel Energy Center.
My time in 4-H, working, volunteering, and my first semester of college have provided me with leadership opportunities and experiences that were often challenging. In order to cope with these challenges, I had to develop skills that would allow me to move forward. The first of which is the ability to work well on a team. This skill is one that I’ve had to practice in many environments such as completing a group project, playing softball, working in food service, and volunteering as a camp counselor.
Many goals of mine manifest in education. Providing myself opportunities to
Something I was repetitively told in elementary school is the importance of being a leader, and everyday I am thankful that I listened to my teachers back then. I can honestly say at the time it was just something drilled into my mind like math or reading but I did not completely understand what it really meant; however, today I can confidently say that I fully understand what it means to posses this quality. Because I demonstrate dependability and integrity in extracurricular roles, industriousness and human compassion while planning events for my current high school, and character through volunteering, I embody the quality that is leadership. To begin, I demonstrate dependablity while in the roles of the National Honors Society Vice President
Leadership has played an important part in my life for the longest time. When I was younger I would always make sure that people were doing the right thing, and if they weren't, I wasn’t afraid to tell them and help them out. One of my first leadership opportunities was in third grade. I had just moved to a new school and didn’t know anyone, but I still decided to run for school vice-president. I used my ability to lead and ended up winning by a landslide.
In sports, I do not hold the title of team captain for simply being on the cross country team for four years. I hold the title because I am able to inspire the team with the effort I put into our daily practices, the fortitude I exhibit during difficult of races, and my ability to communicate with our coaches on sensitive issues. In academics, I do not lead a myriad of clubs just because others shy away from extra responsibilities. I lead because I am able to plan meetings that take into account everybody's interests, because I am skilled at maintaining order even in large groups, and because I am able to balance the responsibilities of leadership with the burden of the most difficult course load possible. Lastly, in scouting, I do not hold the title of Senior Patrol Leader solely because I am the oldest in our troop.
Aiding others is my way of living. I believe my true philosophy is to help others, despite the matter of difficulty. It’s a personal quality that defines who I want to be. For nearly four years, I have been volunteering at my local church as a group leader. Church has open doors for me to learn and be the best leader I can be.
