Throughout life, we learn. These lessons can be found in school, on the job or personal, in the pursuit of an interest. No matter what, where or when we choose to gain knowledge; how we approach learning is unique to each and every one of us based on our individual learning style.
What is a learning style? Learning style is the effective way to help people receive the information. That tool is the most important thing influences our life; it will give us a change to get higher on the career ladder and better way to learn. When I was a child, I have learned lots of things like play the piano, karate, math, literature and English. For the first time I learned them, I noticed that it is effortless for me to learn anything. I could rapidly recognize the piano serrated keyboard; I quickly imitated my karate teacher; and understand how doing math after focused on what my teacher taught. At that time, I did not know the reason why I can do that, but in the year 2010, I can know why. I could play piano faster than others because I was sensitive with sound of each piano key, copy what my teacher had been done and practiced. During the class, I always record the lessons and draw a mind map for each one, so I can hear it again during look at the mind map. It helps me easier understand and recall the lessons. For instance, in mid-term or final test for each term, I can review the lesson in effective way and it can support me achieve distinction. I usually walk back and forth and read out loud if I want to memorize the topic or words. By using VAK my study increases day by day and support me gain lots of achievement such as “model student” certifications in English lv3 and lv4 at ERCI.
From now on, I want to improve my soft skills, so in near future I will talk and discuss with my partner or employee before start the project to improve my leadership and management. I also exercise more because we need a healthy body contain a healthy metal. In the future, I have a big dream is having my own hotels and resorts, so VAK learning styles is the most powerful tool can help me to rich my goal in future; find good partners and loyal employee.

The other two that REF details are elaborative rehearsal and mnemonic devices. I use elaborative rehearsal all the time. To me, elaborative rehearsal is how I learn. For me learning something is building on what you already know and incorporating the new data or information into what is comfortable and known. I have never had much use for mnemonic devices.

In my business class, I was given the opportunity to create a business involving 4 different sectors. In a similar manner, being the team leader during this project, I integrated the best factors from the ideas of my peers and teacher and established what would be most profitable. CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION Background to the study Learning is a change in behavior over time that is brought about by experience during training in educational encounter (Akubuiro and Joshua, 2003). Training as part of education, is the acquisition of knowledge, skills and competence as a result of the teaching of practical skills and knowledge that relate to specific useful competences (Angel, 2007). Training helps the learner to acquire certain useful skills and develop critical mind for the learner’s self-development.
I think in my adult years I can continue to use deliberate practice in certain things of my life. Colvin states that, “Becoming world-class great at anything seems to require thousands of hours of focused, deliberate practice... For an adult facing the responsibilities of a family and a career, devoting that kind of time to purely developmental activities would be exceedingly tough. Only in childhood and adolescence will the time typically be available” (171). This shows how influential deliberate practice is during childhood and how it becomes less effective when one reaches adulthood.
A mentor in nursing is defined as someone who can facilitate learning, supervise and asses nursing students in a practice setting. This in turn produces efficient and effective students who become competent and will have mastered the craft and art of caring. Visual, aural, logical, social, verbal, solitary, and physical. I believe that the Trukese sailors used the visual learning style to help them sail the open sea. Before there were compasses, GPS, and smartphones, they used the sky for guidance.
Controversially, while knowledge of individual learning styles may work in favour of the mentoring relationship it may also be its limitation. However, the awareness of learning styles may prove to be an advantage in the mentor/trainee learning relationship if mentors are able to identify their trainee’s unique learning styles and can devise ways to motivate them to achieving their goals. In addition, in making the relationship work mentors are aware of their own individual learning styles and how this may fit in well with their mentees’ and vice versa.
