“Don’t limit your challenges; challenge your limits,” Jerry Dunn once said. A challenge is a very situation, demanding and grievous, that requires immense amounts of effort and determination in order to receive a positive outcome. My major challenge is phisciacl concering because it concerns my speed in track. I learned from a major challenge from my seventh grade year; Leo’s actions in the face of his challenge would 've been different from mine. Throughout track this year, being slow became an immense challenge. My first major reason why my situation is a challenge is that I was kicked from my favorite track event due to my dearth of swiftness. Lungs burning, heart racing, I always get last place in my event, the one hundred meter dash. Since …show more content…
Speaking as Leo, I would’ve handled his challenge differently. The first way I would manage Leo’s problem would to chose Stargirl over the other kids at school. The other students are all bullies to Stargirl and too me. The kids at school don’t even talk or look at us. I wouldn 't want to be near anyone that was that mean to the person I love. The highschoolers were never really my friends before, so even if they were still being nice, I would pick Star. I wouldn 't chose antagonizes over people that I have great fondness towards. The second reason my choices as Leo would differ is because I wouldn 't force Stargirl to change. Star was happy with who she was;I would not try to shift who she is. What Leo did was selfish and cowardly. I know I would still be shunned if she remained herself, but keeping her happy is what should matter. After Star became Susan, she only had two stones in her happy wagon. If making Star girl upset was the only way to become liked once more, I would still stick by her side and support her. The third way I would act differently is that I would support Star instead of trying to avoid her. If someone I care deeply about was being tyrannized, I would help them. People going through harassment shouldn 't have to deal with it alone. I would be with Star every step of the way to help her get through the bullying. Star didn 't seem to care, but I have concerns about how everyone is treating her. No one deserves to be treated
With my relay team stretched, warmed up, and ready to go, we headed towards the stadium where we would race against the fastest girls in the nation. Intimidated but not deterred we headed out of Tent City and into the gates of Turner Stadium. Knowing this was my last race I would run with my close friends and relay team, being it 's the last race of the season and we all weren’t going to be in the same age group next year, I had a whole new mind set. I was constantly thinking, “we have to make top ten because we can make top ten.” “We have the times, we have the strength, we have the speed, we just need to have the guts to walk in there like we are going to shred the track into pieces.
Beyond by Graham Mcnamee was a fantastic book. Beyond was an extremely suspenseful and mysterious book. Jane, the protagonist, is a girl from a small town in Canada, and she has endured a bunch in her life. She got electrocuted, shot in the head with a nail, drank drain cleaner, and she was born without a heartbeat. A spirt forced her to shoot herself with a nail gun, drink drain cleaner, and touch a power line.
The book club could spread recognition of this matter in their schools. Everyone, including teachers, should be responsible and take charge of putting a stop to bullying. Bullying has and can ruin lives and that is why it has to
Why do you want to be so different?" (67) This is sad because Stargirl was just being herself like she normally is, but Hillari Kimble doesn't like how she is different from everyone else. Hillari Kimble hates Stargirl, “She’s not real, she’s an actress. It’s a scam”(7).

Her classmates would give her the silent treatment and “no one spoke to [them] no one nodded to [them]. No one smiled at [them] no one looked at [them]” (Spinelli 160). This was an example of emotional bullying. It shows me that the students at MICA started to ignore Stargirl and not talk to her. This was one of the types of bullying shown at Mica highschool.
Stargirl was hurt because Leo said no one liked her so she changed herself to be liked. “Two days later Stargirl vanished.” (pg 138) “I whispered ‘Stargirl’ she battered her chocolatey eyelashes ‘Stargirl? What kind of name is that? My name is Susan.”
In Madera High School students on an average mentioned that the staff members in this school did not handle bullying and harassment to the expectations. On average 125 students chose from a scale 1-10 that the school handled bullying and harassment from a 3-5, ten being perfectly handled. A student who was a victim mentioned, “ It made me feel scared and it made me fear interacting with new people. I did not go to someone for help I went to my teacher for help but she did not really help”(Anonymous). This student obviously tried to talk to an adult and explain what she was going through and how severely did bullying affect her.
In Jerry Spinelli’s novel, Stargirl, Leo Borlock, the protagonist, occasionally has been perceived as a jerk. This idea was evidenced by many examples from the book, such as the conversation between Stargirl and him regarding her popularity. Furthermore, Leo had previously been educating Stargirl on the norms of high school, and he was specifically explaining his opinion on appropriate behavior when assembling in groups. He claimed that every member should resemble the others. When Stargirl acquired why she needs to change herself to accomplish this, Leo cruely replies, “Because nobody likes you...
Speeding up At the beginning of the cross country season I hated cross country absolutely hated it, I would walk down the hallway of saline middle school look at all of the pictures on the wall and saw some of kids running and thought why is My mom doing this to me? I thought I was a terrible at it, I would run like a 9 or 10 minute mile. So when the school year came along I dreaded the end of the day I would look at the clock and think a tiny bit longer, please just a wee longer (and that is very very rare.) When the season began I had a lot of trouble, whether it was keeping up or if it was breathing problems, and My friend Zaske (who was and still is much faster than me) was nice enough that instead of going up with all the faster kids he stayed back with me, but even when he was going his slowest I still had trouble keeping up he would try to encourage me by saying “come on Michael just a little faster,” and I would respond with “i'm…
I’d help them deal with the bully and help them speak up to him/her. In a case when I’m not around and I’m busy, I’d give them steps to deal with the problem. I would first tell them to first ignore the bully. If that doesn’t work, I’d tell them next to be brave and to stand up to the bully, letting them know that he/ she isn’t alone.
Coach Charlie always tells the cross country team that," they just gotta believe," which is definitely true for racing. It requires great mentality to be able to push past all your pain to beat your time. In order to be able to improve, a runner must be able to push himself or herself further even when they are exhausted. Running is the greatest
The second challenge is trying to work and complete projects and assignments on time. The third and biggest challenge is allocating enough time to do the requirements of parent, grandparent and everything else before I lay my head down to sleep. The first challenge is
Daily challenges move us in the direction of huge success that may currently seem distant. When we are enthusiastic about finishing our goals every single day, we are slowly taking steps that are taking us to our larger idea of success. “I don’t run away from a challenge because I am afraid. Instead, I run towards it because the only way to escape fear is to trample it beneath your foot.’’ -Nadia
