When you think of a hero you think of Spiderman or Superman but I have another hero in mind. A hero is courageous, brave, puts someone before themselves, has humility, patience, and a lot of other qualities. My mom is My Michigan Hero. In this essay, I will tell you all about my mom. Most of the people writing this will choose their mom because let's face it, moms are awesome but mine is extra special. My grandma has alzheimer's. If you don’t know what alzheimer’s it is a progressive disease that destroys your memory and other mental functions. Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease and it destroys memories and people who have it suffer with remembering people. My mom started to notice that my grandma had some warning signs of this disease.

My personal Michigan hero is my seventh grade social studies teacher, Ms. Dokter. Though I am not a personal friend of hers, per say, she had a tremendous impact on my life. She was strong and loyal to her husband through all their troubles. Furthermore, she is a hero to me because through all the struggles in her life she remained positive, strong, generous, and maternal person. She has impacted my life by showing me that you can go through struggles in your life and still be a positive person. She spends time helping her local church every month with their fish frys and festivals.
But someone who just does it out of their own kindness. My Michigan hero is my sister Nicole because she helps others, she cares a lot about her family, and she works hard. My sister helps others out a lot. She always helps me when i’m sad or scared.

However, Martha finally encouraged her to go play in the moor with stories about her brother, Dickon, and what adventures he had in the moor.
The real heroes are the people that have been with you through everything. A hero is courageous, strong, and willing to do anything in tough situations. I never knew how courageous my mother was until the day my father had an at work accident about 5 years ago, he was in the hospital for a few weeks but when he got out he never really stepped out of his room. It felt like he had completely given up, he did not want to work, I think it was because he was terrified of being involved in another accident. My mother stepped up, payed all the bills, keep us feed, and still always found time to spend with us.
My mom provides peace when it comes to our family. She keeps our family grounded. If someone doesn’t like the food they order, she will switch with them. When my brother comes home from college she makes us extra food so we don’t argue about who gets the last spoonful, and on our birthdays she makes sure we get our favorite meal. She goes out of her way to give us the perfect day.
