New Year’s Resolutions
(SA) The tradition of New Year’s Resolutions, something millions of people do each year, in my family is hardly a tradition at all. We don’t have any family activities for planning resolutions to share what we want to accomplish in the future. My parents, whom are supportive either way, have goals of their own. We’ve never tried to make a resolution as a whole, but my mother has attempted to urge the idea. In my opinion, resolutions are hard. Whether you’re going to get a gym membership or be nice everyday, change is change. (SI) To rearrange our natural or already established habits is quite the challenge for anyone. (CXSC) Nevertheless, we still try to succeed every year, because of our hope to become better people. My resolutions include eating & leading a healthful life, performing musically whenever I earn the chance, and making a plan for my upcoming future.

All in all, I have done well on keeping these goals so far but have yet to come to a final choice. My healthy lifestyle, musical challenges, and creating a conclusion of my future will affect me in a positive
Going into my senior year of high school, I was forced to make some fairly large decisions about my future, as were most teens my age. Before making the decision to attend California University of Pennsylvania, I was looking into what career was best for me, and what I wanted to achieve in my educational career. This was a lengthy and difficult process, but in the end, it led me to the path I am traveling today as a student at California University of Pennsylvania. When it came to deciding what I wanted to major in, I was very unsure.
As Melody Beattie quotes, “[the] new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We can write that story by setting goals.” As I begin a new chapter in my life, I have set some goals for myself that I feel will benefit me in the future. My senior year of high school has motivated me to set realistic future goals that I know I will achieve for my own benefit.

Some people in elementary school knew they wanted to be doctors. Classmates of mine in middle school expressed their desires to become teachers. But in a larger sense, it often felt like I was going through the motions, living another day just to do so.
My third resolution is to get better grades. I can fix this by taking better notes in class and bringing them home everyday to study. I think this is going to be easy because all I have to do is tell my body to move faster, use my ears to listen better, and use my

I take on the world as it is thrown at me, conquer the obstacles as they present themselves, and pursue the opportunities given.
