With the saying “money is one form of power, but what is more powerful is financial education” from the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad my passion for Accounting and Finance was ignited. It taught me that money comes and goes, but with the education about how money works, you gain power over it and can begin building wealth. Accounting is a language to all businesses that opens doors to many opportunities. Many do not understand it and are caught up in the “rat race”, working for money but those who are financially literate, are able to make money work for them instead. This opened up my eyes to the wonders of accounting and finance and fuelled my passion to pursue a degree in accounting and finance.

For my A levels now, I am taking maths, economics, accounting. I picked these subjects as I know that these subject can help me in getting all the skills needed for the course I am interested in which is Business Management. I believe that I have the flexibility in thinking and analyzing things. I say this because I was involved in organizing one of the biggest events for my school which was the inter school talent show, a two day event. In organizing this, I was required to analyze and manage how many contestants would be participating as well as how many audiences would come to calculate how much demand for food and beverages we were going to sell during the show would be. I was able to get an estimate on the quantity of the materials needed for each day by looking at how well the response in our media networking was and that helped us manage our funds well. We were able to achieve minimal wastage and got a lot of profits from that well planned
