A wonderful quote by Julia Child says "Find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it".
I found my passion in science right from my schooling days, I was always fascinated by the practical experiments conducted on scientific theories of physics and chemistry in lab, the science exhibition held in school were among my favorite events. I got a chance to present my interest in the form of projects 'Air & Water Pollution' in which I had demonstrated the ill effects of industrial effluents on atmospheric air and water and a 'Electronically Controlled Clap Switch' that could generate electrical pulse on the sound of a clap, I along with my school colleague made a working prototype for the same in the exhibition.
The love for science made me choose it as my subject for my higher secondary education where I

Jeff Haden’s “DO WHAT YOU LOVE? #@&** THAT!” is a counter argument to Steve Jobs speech to Stanford graduates expressing them to follow their hearts. Haden immediately explains how that is the worst advice you can give a young individual. He then formats his article with bold headlines, so the reader can easily identify his key points. All his key points include various forms of “passion” and how an individual might not always get paid for theirs.
From a very young age, I’ve always been interested in science and its ability to explain natural phenomena, so naturally, I have been attracted to the South Florida Science Museum since birth. It all started with a “mad scientist” themed birthday party I had at the museum in third grade. I remember being fascinated by the exotic oceanic creatures in the touch tank and the experiments, which I thought were magic (because how else could white powder (baking soda) and a clear liquid (vinegar) make a volcano?). I knew that when I grew up, I wanted to work at the science museum so I could experience this level of joy every day.
Ever since I was younger. I 've always been fascinated with babies and animals. The way animals communicate with each other to the innocence in a baby 's eyes has always sparked one of my interests. Being the oldest, I always had the opportunity to play with my little brother/sister, or even my little cousins. It was always exciting, making them giggle and seeing them so full of life.
Why do I want to attend college? College is an honorary achievement and it separates the determined from the undetermined. Owning a college to degree is an honor and an ecstatic feeling. Doing what I love and being able to support myself and loved ones is important to me. I am a very independent person and I like to do things my way. I like to set individual goals everyday, whether that means doing my homework before a certain time, or completing something for the week. They help me get my work done on time and efficiently.
When I turned nine I begged my parents to buy me this fancy stethoscope. It took some convincing, but they were not match for my youthful charm. I would walk around the house and compel my brothers and parents to let me listen to their heart. I would listen intently as if that stethoscope would whisper in my ear and tell what life as a doctor would be like. But playing Doogie Howser and becoming a real-life M.D. are two different things.
I have chosen astronomy. I chose this career because I have always been interested in the stars and planets. I have always been really fascinated with space and when i went to NASA i got to see a lot of different things about space, stars, and nebulas. You should have the ability to solve complex problems, conduct research and accurately analyze data.
The tiny humans, who advocates for them when they are ill? Who stands up for them when no adult is around to speak for them? A pediatric surgeons job is not only to treat their patient's illness but to advocate for the children who are too small to stand up for themselves. The way to make the world a better place is to begin with yourself. A method in which I will contribute to society and make an impact by becoming a pediatric surgeon.

Choosing a college major is one of the most important decisions in a person’s life. The effect choosing a college major has on one’s life is much like a small ripple in the middle of a vast ocean. In the students senior year it is a simple seemingly inconsequential click of a button on an online application. But by the time this once meek ripple reaches the shore of the students’ life it has already transformed into a great tidal wave that has influenced their life every step of the way.
To Graduate Committee Admission of Biochemistry and Cell Biology Program of Rice University: My inclination to study biology comes to me since I was little boy. I always found amazing the capabilities of living beings and mechanisms that allow life, development and evolution of organisms. Particularly interesting were my first approaches to microbiology in early classes in high school. My fascination by biological sciences was such that it led me to win the National Biology Contest held in Cuba, my native country in 2004. This was one of my first academic achievements in my short career and allowed me to directly enter the best pre-university school in my country.
My goals have changed a lot over the last couple of years. Bouncing back and forth between majors and deciding if I even want to be taking college classes right now. I kept asking myself why I should struggle with hard classes when I have a good job right now. But then I stopped and repeated “good job right now.” My job as a twenty year old might support me right now but is it going to support me in ten or fifteen years when I’m trying to buy a house and support my family?

There is this famous saying, ''Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow". I could not agree more. Growing up as a kid, I vividly recall myself always being enthusiastic to learn and explore. Now I stand on the state where I can proudly say that this passion has driven my growth, motivated me to grow even further and augmented my hunger for quality education.
