Being a nurse in general is one of the most important jobs in the world.You can either make or break someone's life at anytime.. I know that nursing in general can be very stressful and can also take up most of your time, but it will make you feel a lot better knowing that you just saved someone's life. I have seen nurses help my family members in their best times and also their worst times. Since I was little I have always wanted a job to where I am constantly helping people get back on their feet. Seeing these nurses take care of my family the way they did make me want to become that one day! There are many different branches in the medical field, and the one I'm most interested in is being a Flight Nurse or a trauma nurse.

My future career is to become a registered nurse. I was interested in nursing field because when I was little I had been in and out of the hospitals. I was born with asthma and it was difficult for me to breath when I was little. Until now I am still having some problems. Now that I am older I take more noticed one what nurse do and some of my nurses have in inspired me to a nurse. My parents have also inspired me because the didn't have the opportunity to study because they had to work at a very young age. Some rewards I would get from this field would be that if some one from my family is sick I can help them out.

The nursing profession to my understanding is one that helps others by using skills that is blended with scientific knowledge, compassion, thoughtfulness and caring, as well as the community. They provide preventative and restorative health care to patients and the community in a variety of settings. The nursing profession requires a person who is self-motivated, compassionate; an individual who will understand a person not only with their biological needs, but also their psycho social and cultural needs as well. For this reason, I believe I have all these skills to be an advanced professional registered Nurse.
I chose nursing for my health science career because I enjoy helping people who need assistance. For example on page 78, Catherine who has been a nurse for 25 years states” I see nursing as a spiritual vocation. It is much more than work; I find it a way of serving”. Being messenger of Good Faith is a characteristic that I found very appealing. This is the kind of nurse I hope to be. I want to be there for my patients with my faith during the hardest times. Also I want to help them understands that God is wonderful and he is always present among us.

Nursing is the nation’s largest health care profession. It is fast pace and there is never a dull moment throughout the workday. Everyday is different and every patient is different. Although the hours are really long and the education is very expensive, being a Registered or a Pediatric Nurse would best suit me because I love helping people, there are jobs available where I want to live,the salary is really good and it will help me to pay off college debts, and overall it is just something I could see myself doing.
