My Personal Memoir: Anna Louw

My visit with Stefanie Ammiano, NP was terrific. The members of the staff were kind, professional and efficient. Stefanie saw me with very little wait time. She did a complete interview and assessment of my body. All of her suggestions were appropriate and thoughtful. She listened to my concern and addressed every one of them. Being a medical professional, I am very critical of the medical care I receive and I was over 100% satisfied with my experience. Her care and bedside manner are fantastic. I highly recommend.

“This Boy’s Life” is a memoir written by Tobias Wolff where he describes his childhood, which was full of difficulties and disappointment. From the first page, it is clear that Rosemary, his mother, is not a conventional parent. Although, she harbors only good intentions and love for Toby, her poor judgment causes her well-meaning decisions to have a detrimental effect on him. This is evident when Toby writes profanity on school property. Even though the vice principal and two witnesses state it was Toby who committed the vandalism, Rosemary refuses to believe that Toby did it. She argues and even threatens the principal until he revokes Tobias’ sentence. Marian knows that Toby was the perpetrator and argues with Rosemary about it. Toby prepares an explanation for Marian’s accusations, but Rosemary doesn’t ask about it. That same weekend, Dwight asks Rosemary to marry him, and she accepts because she believes that it will be good for Toby (78-84). This episode illustrates important character traits about Rosemary which includes her denial about Toby’s true nature, her adamant refusal to discipline him, and her inability to make proper decisions regardless of her intentions.

On March 2013, Anna Lappe, an author and an activist, talks about food marketing and their business. According to her, the food industry spends billion dollars every year on using assertive advertising to make children to nag parents into purchasing them junk food. It is great for the industry because they are getting good profit in return, but awful for families and kids. With so many health related problems on the rise, widespread advertising of junk food is totally risky, especially to youngsters. Pediatricians are seeing an increase in situations like youngsters needing leg braces because of corpulence related joint issues. The author emphasizes that it has become difficult for parents in this technological age to keep the children from

I play softball. It was All-Stars, and we were in first place at the moment. We had won three games, to London, Circleville, and another team whose name I can’t remember. It was the second to the last game, and our team was watching from some nice shade in the outfield (By the way, it was in the 90’s while we were there. It felt like a sauna!) Everybody was all sprawled out on the shady grass. You could smell sweat and sunblock in the air. We ate Flyers pizza, and candy (probably not a smart choice), and made sure to drink a whole lot of water. Both of the teams we had already beaten multiple times, so I didn 't see the sense of playing them again, but we had to anyways. We listened to the crickets chirping in the pond behind the field, and heard the crack of the bats slamming against the softballs being pitched. Most people struggle with figuring out who they really are. The short story "Everyday Use,” written by  Alice Walker, emphasizes this aspect of individuality. It is about an African- American mother and her two daughters. The story concentrates on the lives of two sisters named Maggie and Dee(Wangero). Maggie is portrayed as a homely and ignorant girl, while Dee is portrayed as a beautiful and educated woman. For some of my family the search for individuality is an ongoing process. In fact, my family and the family in “Everyday Use” share similarities and differences when it comes to actions of young people, the treatment of children, and relationships between family members.

Prior to World War 2 Jewish people were the main family or culture that the Nazi’s been feeding off of and killing approximately 6,000 each day. Which led to 6.5 million Jews dead at the end of the war and a few survivors. Although one of these few survivors was Otto Frank, father of Anne Frank, Diarist of one of the most famous diaries, “The Diary of Anne Frank.” World War 2 was a devastating event that changed how Jews lived because because they were said to be “Divergent.”

Over a year ago my Aunt Bernadette and my Uncle Glenn got divorced. My Aunt didn’t take it very well, but to the rest of my family it didn’t come as much of a surprise. They were always fighting with each other over petty things and didn’t get along. However, my Aunt couldn’t accept that she was part of the problem, so she decided to push the blame onto someone else. That someone being my Grandmother. She said that my Grandma was too involved in their relationship. My Aunt thought that my Grandmother calling them and wanting to see them was driving a fork in her marriage. My Aunt accusing my Grandma is similar to when the girls were screaming out people they claimed to have seen walking with the devil in Act one of the play. The girls were all watching as Tituba was giving up names of people she saw with the devil. Seeing her being praised for gave Abby the idea to confess and then accuse people as well, which caused all the other girls to do the same. It is a normal day in fourth grade. I am continuously stumping my classmates academically; however, students also make fun of my accent and unbreakable pattern of defeat in my Physical Education, P.E class. I have come to accept my lack of athleticism, and am giving up on my dream to become an athlete. Yet deep down inside, it still matters to me that no one wants me on their team. I disguise my dreadful athleticism from my classmates by acting careless and uninterested in the game. This particular day of P.E. requires me to face the embarrassment of another game of dodgeball. Long ago in 1634, the King of England, Charles I, provoked many people to want to leave to the New World, due to the monarchy system. Anna, one of the miserable people under the King’s rule, was just like everyone else and couldn’t stand to live there anymore. Kammie, her sister, and Kathryn, her mom, had been listening to George Calvert in Maryland, one of the few southern colonies, and liked what he had to say. As a family, they made the decision to journey to Maryland, because of the representative government, strong economy, good climate, and especially the catholicism.

My partner is Cathryn Cusano, she has lived in Easton, Pennsylvania throughout her entire life. Cathryn has a love for softball and has played ever since she was a little girl. During Cathryn’s senior year of high school she had multiple offers to play softball for elite colleges in the area. She started out having an amazing season, the team was also thriving which eventually resulted in them making it to the playoffs. It was the first round of playoffs and Cathryn was on first base, one of her teammates was up to bat. The first pitch is thrown and it’s a ball, the second pitch is a perfect strike down the middle and the batter slams the ball to center field. Laurel Thatcher proves that Martha Ballard was an exceptional independent woman who was also constrained by the expectations put on midwifes. Thatcher portrayed the quality of women’s lives through the life of Martha Ballard and the women around her.

Mot: A Memoir by Sarah Einstein is about Sarah, who is trying to make the world a better place, meets a man named Mot who is homeless mentally ill; but he changes Einstein career. She is the director of a drop in homeless shelter for the mentally ill and homeless, everything was going just fine until the street drugs started getting into the shelter and the people that stay in the shelter started getting a lot more violent and using the shelter as a way to call there “connect” to get more drugs. They were losing a lot of their staff members because of the situation, which left them very short staffed and Sarah was there alone at night a lot of the time. She had been sexually assaulted. On May 20,1996 I was born Damione Freeman growing up in a small city named Pell City. Growing up wasn't easy for me father was never around just leaving me with my mother.
