What is personality? Personality is the sum of total ways in which individuals reacts to and interact with others. Personality is the expression of a person’s traits according to ones feelings, mentality, and behavior. It’s an expression from within an individual and is comparatively regular throughout the individuals’ life. Different people have different personality depending on the environment and genetic composition. Some of my personality traits are; ambitious, caring, and adventurous. After taking this test my results showed me that my open-mindedness which tend to be original, creative, curious, and complex if your score is high. My percentile score was a 68, Conscientiousness is a well-organized, reliable, and self –disciplined individual. I had a score of 99, Extraversion is being friendly, enjoy having fun, and talkative my score was an 83, Agreeableness being a good nature person, sympathetic, forgiving, and courteous my score was 93. Overall this personality test showed me that I’m an open, loving, caring, sociable person. This explains why my choice in this professional field as an office manager is a good career choice. On the other hand, The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator this personality test taps four characteristics and classifies people into 1 to 16 personality types. After taking this test is showed me that my personality type is (ESFJ-A) Extraverted 54%, Sensing 62%, Feeling 63%, and Judging 88%. The assessment explains similarities to the Big Five Model test that I’m an outgoing, sociable, assertive person. Furthermore, I rely on personal values, emotion, order, and structure. In regards to my personality it’s fair to say that am very friendly, assertive, jovial, approachable, and genuine and very open minded person. Also I must say that I am very extraverted and observant. I am a very clean person and at times I can be scornful if I see something out of place or if cleaning isn’t done correctly. According to the Myers-Briggs personality type indicator, there are sixteen personality types (Robbins, DeCanzo and Coulter, 2015, p.254). As you can imagine, a mix of personalities in the workplace can be both positive and negative. It can be positive because unique personalities bring different traits and ideas into the workplace. On the other hand, it could be negative when it comes to clashing personalities that cause unhealthy and petty rivalries. I took the Myers-Briggs personality test during my first CSU-Global class and it was able assists me with understanding my personality better.
There are many opportunities for using a personality assessment in an organization. When conducted appropriately, personally assessments can give the individual important feedback so they can learn from the experience and develop from it (Suzanne & Winfred, 2008, P. 682). Therefore, personality assessments can give an individual valuable insight into their personality which can be used to improve their weaknesses through developing activities (Suzanne & Winfred, 2008, P. 682). However, not all individuals respond to feedback in the same manner and this can be affected by the traits that are discovered on a personality assessment. Individuals who have high scores in agreeableness, extroversion, and emotional stability tend to have a higher acceptance rate of the feedback they receive (Suzanne & Winfred, 2008, P. 686).
The Emotional Assessment Personality Test reviewed and scored my personality in six different areas. There were about one hundred questions, and I was to rate how each question related to myself. After completion of the Emotional Assessment Test my top rated personality trait is Conscientiousness (Condon, n.d.). Though this was my highest scoring trait, I only ranked about the seventieth percentile. This indicates that I am somewhat conscientious.

For example, I do play an instrument, but not very well, and not in public, which is why I believe that my artistic rating was low. I also think this could be related to low self-confidence in this area of my life, as my friends say that I am actually a great guitar player. I also respectfully disagree with her on my extraversion rating, as I feel that I do many activities with my family and close friends that I have around me. I do not feel that extraversion should be solely determined by how much you adventure outside of your circle, but instead by how much you do with those in your circle. However, this could be due to the assessment’s limitations itself, as I feel that the formula the IPIP-NEO uses to achieve results in this category could be based in large part in how many friends you have, which I feel is simply not true.
