- Project your voice: it is very important to speak with a relatively loud tone of voice so that your students can easily follow your explanations. In my case, when I had to explain something in class, I did my best to speak clearly and loudly enough to be understood by every student. One of the students in 1ºBTO said to me that she liked how I had projected my voice and modified my volume and tone of voice when explaining.
- Move around the class from time to time, but not excessively: in my opinion, moving around the class keeps students "awake" since they have to pay attention to where the teacher is. At school, I made use of the digital board and of some videos from Youtube, which was something relatively new for me.
- Be motivating: if we as teachers want our students to be engaged in the learning process, we need to motivate them. I think this is not an easy task at all, but I saw how my tutor did her best to get students who were not very interested in English, involved in the class. I also tried to motivate some students who rejected English by trying to make them understand that knowing English has a great number of advantages.
- Take into account students ' previous knowledge: before starting with a unit/topic, I think it is crucial to know students ' previous knowledge about the topic in order to plan what to do and how to do it with them. When I had to explain the future tenses in 3ºESO, I kept in mind that some of them were "almost new" for the students, so I spent more time explaining them and gave the students several examples.
- Promote group work since it helps students who are not very "integrated" in the class, socialize with the rest of their classmates. I have seen how this worked in 4ºESO with the musical, as I explained in my evidence
