Testimony: Having grown up in a middle class Christian household, I have not encountered many struggles in my life. With this being said I accepted Christ at the age of five and have been attending church for as long as I can remember. For the first part of my schooling years, I was homeschooled by my mom who had a degree in education, but in fifth grade I was moved to Joy Christian. After leaving Joy the summer of my seventh grade year, I spent eighth grade at Peoria Traditional School. Although I was a bit nervous to go to a public school, I had the best experience of my life. One of the best parts of public school was that the kids there were even nicer than the kids at Joy. Due to the fact that I had different morals than most of the other students, I was alway apart of controversial debates. During these debates, I was able to represent my faith and uphold my beliefs without offending my peers. However, instead of feeding into Liberty High School like the rest of my classmates, my parents enrolled me in Northwest. This is were I began to thrive, although I struggled to find a group that suited me best, I started playing sports and getting involved in various activities. During this same time, I was attending Palmcroft’s annual missions trip to California every summer. In sixth and seventh grade I was the leader of a four person team that walked the beaches of California spreading the gospel message. In addition to evangelism, our youth group helped improve the church that we stayed at. Then, in high school, Palmcroft sends out sixteen teams of students that run two VBSs a day for a full week during the summer. …show more content…

I feel that I should be inducted into the National Honors Society because of the diligence that my grades reflect, the leadership I exude, and integrity that my service in the community demonstrates. However, beyond these aspects of me is something more, something charismatic and yet responsible that would excellently define what NHS stands for.
