I could not find myself, until I found grit. To explain, I had been having a hard time at home, I was losing focus, and just could not seem to recognize a purpose for my being. Furthermore, it feels as if I am my only support system, my own mentor, and my only motivator. My successes are owed to perseverance, passion, and zeal. To begin with, I use perseverance daily to face challenges in my home and at school. Firstly, many people believe I will fail in light of previous family “failures.” Although in reality, not meeting someone else’s standards does not mean you failed. Unfortunately, when your father never graduated from high school, your mother hasn’t worked in ten years, and only one of your five sisters (I am the youngest) has gone …show more content…
Firstly, I have begun challenging myself, and have stepped a foot through the door to my future. In fact, I have been attending an Airframe Mechanics course at the National Center for Aviation Training, and a Comp One course provided by Wichita Area Technical College through my high school. For the most part, I believe I have been taking the proper measures to secure my success. Secondly, I have maintained good grades and put a lot of effort into becoming more professional. To demonstrate, I worked very hard, was on time, and was engaged in my high school government class and ended up with a 105% at one point. Also, I finished my first session with all A’s. Definitely, by practicing professionalism and giving my best efforts, I can achieve anything. Thirdly, I am very self-reliant, so I have been working on strengthening my self-discipline. Indeed, I find myself down and unmotivated more often than not, but I have come up with a remedy. Ordinarily, I take a step back, give myself a pep-talk or some constructive criticism and re-focus myself. Expressly, I am able to control and direct myself in the correct manner despite my irrelevant desires. Thereupon, each of these things power my passion, and perfect my
The reason that I want to share this story, is to show people who are in currently in high school that it is acceptable to fail. While it is not okay to accept failing as an option, if you tried as hard as you could and still ended up failing, it is actually
There were many times that I convinced myself that I was going to fail, but I was determined to finish. At the end of the year, received straight A 's, another standard that I wanted to hold myself to at the time. Since then, I have worked hard to maintain my grades despite my health. I eventually found the balance between my health issues and
In the article “Want To Get Into College? Learn To Fail” by Angel B. Perez the main idea was that colleges want to know the real you,the imperfect you not the just the great things you’ve accomplished over the year ,but also the failure you had to overcome. The reason why they want to know this is to see if you can overcome failing a class or two just to how you can you handle this, because life is not easy and healthy, family and money sometimes can get in the way of things but the goal is to make you succeed. Another thing I learned that I think is a main point is that parents are the ones pressuring their children to be perfect. So much that they didn 't want their child to take a risk in a class if there was a possibility for failure.

Not to mention that WMed is the only Michigan-based medical school to be voted one of the 50 Most Beautiful Medical Schools. It is also a new institution which allows for innovation by its students.
“Great works are performed not by strength but by perseverance” -Samuel Johnson. This quote encompasses one of the underlying and pivotal concepts that I have learned this semester. This is the idea of perseverance. Perseverance has various forms and it shows up in every single book we have read this semester. I think that this quality is crucial to progress in both physical and spiritual life.
Becoming a first generation college student has been stressful to say the least. “Perseverance isn’t one long race; it is many short races one after the other.” - Walter Elliot. When someone is facing their idea of impossible, they must overcome many small bumps in the road and when they get over that small bump it can make them believe in themselves and make them stronger as a person. But perseverance can be well worth it in the end. Through determination, we can learn why perseverance is essential to making us stronger both mentally and emotionally, but we can’t just understand why but also how perseverance help in making us the strongest people we can be.
Life is a blessing and just because you failed doesn't mean that your life is hard and that life is rough. Life is challenging you because that's what life does. God put you on this earth for a reason. You were blessed with a great life don't throw it away because you hit a wall or you are scared to hit that wall. God does not put stuff in front

My 10 Life Lessons My first and most important life lesson is to be thankful. I know that is such a simple one, and it is one that I have been taught my entire life. However, I have just recently learnt how important this lesson is. I am a nursing student, and during my third week of clinicals at the nursing home I was assigned a patient that is a vegetable.
Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to be successful in life. I have always wanted to be the better version of my parents and achieve many things in life. During my freshman year in High school, I knew I was going to major in business. I come from a household of five, my father, mother, two younger sisters, and myself. I am the first in my family to go to college and with that being said, I have always felt the pressure to be the best role model and example for my younger sisters.
I spend a significant amount of time just thinking about myself as I go throughout my day. I constantly question myself: why am I the way that I am, what could I have done better here, what is my place in the world, etc. In the context of this paper, I have come to a conclusion. In the past, I was a leader. Now, I realized I have failed.
