Essay A. TTU. Attitude. Discipline. Value of Life. These are definitely tenets to live by. It was only yesterday that I graduated from high school with a head full of dreams, ready to start a journey abroad. It was only yesterday that I decided to study engineering because I truly want to create something that impacts the world in ways every single human can feel different or better in some way. I realize now, that after two years in the United States, I am a completely different person. And Time. Flies. By. Life lessons and experiences learned day by day during this time shaped me, and helped me see the world in a completely different way. And these tenets I mention, have been central to my growth. As a teenager who had everything in life, I had an attitude. I was full of myself. My parents always gave me more than what I really deserved, and I thought I could do basically anything. I had no fear whatsoever of getting into trouble. When I decided to leave the country to attend college, everything changed for me. Coming from a third world country where two-thirds of the population are indigenous, I grew up valuing and respecting differences in religion, race, and class. Because of my upbringing, I embrace diversity and see it as opportunity for enrichment. As I am from diverse background that is raised in the Pakistan and experienced high school and college life in the United States, I often had to go through various difficulties to know what people consider acceptable behavior and what is deviant behavior. Because of this experience, I have gotten better at understanding people. This is very important as this personal characteristics helps me to make sure I do not ending up disrespecting people. By listening to people and observing their actions and their response to different situations, I try to analyze and understand their culture and their moral beliefs. Growing up in the environment I did allowed me to live without the oppression that Peekay experienced in his daily life. I didn’t have a care in the world about anything except my own desires and needs. My mother started to get in trouble with the state of Maryland because I was not old enough to be out of school. She cut me deal by saying if I went to school until I was old enough to drop out, she would sign my drop out papers. So I went back and started in a new school.

My father has always been the one that provides finically, while my mother was the one who took care of my siblings and I throughout my childhood. Governor’s School Essay Response Ever since I was young you could always find me toying around with objects trying to figure out how they worked. Taking them apart, studying them, and then reconstructing them back together was a usual past time for me. Looking back I realized that all of the time I spent on learning how something worked was the foundation that flourished into my passion for engineering.
Ten years ago, I immigrated to the United States and ever since I have been an undocumented immigrant. Due to my legal status in the United States, I felt like I was restricted from certain situations and possessions and would never be able to succeed. I was not living the normal life of a seven-year-old. Instead, I had to learn to cope and adapt to a whole new culture. Even though the drastic change at such a young age was a challenge, it has shaped who I am today.
By the time I entered middle school, I had greatly improved my English speaking, reading, and writing. I learned to embrace my accent, and take pride in my Hispanic heritage. I still can't believe how much I have grown as a person in the last 9 years. The struggles that I endured growing up, strengthened and prepared me for the future challenges I am yet to face. I will be a first-generation college student next fall, and I know that I will be successful because I have always been able to overcome the obstacles I face.
My journey consisted of many good and bad times, and throughout the years I discovered my strengths and weaknesses. I made new friends, took on different tests, accomplished many things. My first year was my most difficult, being new to the school, but as the years went by, school became a more fun experience for me. Knowing that the 4 years of high school was a journey for me, I was able to brace myself for the difficult times to come and the rewards I was going to receive. At the end of the journey, I had gained a lot from these 4 years, but it also prepared me for my next journey, my journey through university.

Coming from a low income family, living in a small town in India, I learned early on about struggling and surviving those struggles. I watched my parents working day and night to provide for electricity, pay for our monthly school fees so my sister and I can have a better education, and for the future they wished upon for their children. To further enhance this vision, my father decided for the family and I to immigrate to the US. Everything was different in the sense that I changed schools, learned a new language, had to make new friends, and learned the different culture. One of the hardest fought for attributes of a brand is knowing that customers consider that the brand has value. We learned in our lesson that perceived value is a key attribute towards selling a brand. Writing a value proposition and keeping it current could help these business leaders to determine and clarify the unique characteristics their business will need to identify to better market their brand. In this paper, I desire to convey what a value proposition is and how it can help leaders chart a successful course through changing times.
Made new friends and everything became much easier for me. The moral of this story was about moving to a new country and not knowing the language and the culture. When moving to a new country It won't be the same country you were back home. Its totally different. When coming to a new country you have to adopt with the new culture.
The two important values that I have learnt are the independence and the respect. I learnt these two values since my childhood. One of the values is the independence. Independence means that you can support yourself without owning or depending on yourself concerned with livelihood or studying. You can make decision of your life without being controlled by the others.
