This course has helped a lot with that, I learned how to use grammar and punctuation better. I liked how you corrected my stuff and I learned to have people double check my work for mistakes so that I can fix them before turning it in or making myself look like a fool. I learned a lot about rhetorical knowledge, knowledge of conventions and critical thinking in reading and writing.

It’s something I’m comfortable with and something that I feel like I can convey my feelings more, That’s why I choose what I choose for the project at the end of the course. I choose to write about the issue with transgenders using the bathroom because I feel so strongly about it. Critical Thinking, Reading, and Writing This was one of my favorite parts of this course because it taught me to read more in depth with the story, It taught me to make more sense of the stories. It taught me there is more meaning to stories that what is told on the paper. You have to read in between the lines to get the full affect of things. It also taught me to put more meaning into my writing make it actually mean something. I love to learn the way people are thinking when they are writing. I love to analyze things and make more sense to them. I love learning how other people are thinking when they are writing things and stories.
When registering for this class, a wave of worry ran through me, because I had minimal skill when it came to writing, particularly in the field of formal writing. The high school I attended was academically poor, we never wrote formal papers, just informal book and movie responses. Therefore I was apprehensive about this class. This course was quite intricate, but I attend skills that will aid me for the rest of my academic career. Rhetorical knowledge, critical inquiry, process, and conventions are all concepts I have acquired.
This course so far has helped me branch out in my writing and find new ideas. Some forms at first seemed unrelated and unusable, but it has started to boost my confidence and to write what is on my mind. GENERAL REFLECTION Throughout this course, I learned several things about the material covered in class and also about my strengths and weakness when writing. I have become a great writer who thinks critically and uses all the knowledge I have at hand. But even if I improved I know there are many things I could do to enhance my skills as a writer.
At the start of this course I could barely write a coherent paragraph. I believe that I can now write a passable academic essay. I have grown much more confident in my writing skills. This class has been exceptionally helpful in teaching me how to write properly. I believe that I have gained a lot of useful information from this class.
Writing has always been an issue but yet interesting subject of mine. As hard as I try and write essays, and papers I just can’t get the hang of writing. But after taking this class, I did learn different writing technique and improved my writing proficiency, material body of formatting, and how to uncovering and properly use sources. Through class exams, essays, and a research paper, I was able to learn new writing skills. Although I have learned a variety of things, my writing still needs improvement.
At times when I read there are words that I don’t quite understand. When this happens I look up the word and see how I could use it. This also goes back to my writing, if I find a word in a book that I have read I can add it to my writing to improve my writing skills. When I see the effect of reading on my knowledge it makes me proud of myself because I used to get teased for always reading, but that didn’t matter to me because , in the end, I knew that reading would help me. All those people that teased me for always reading were probably envious of how much knowledge that I could acquire from just reading one book.
While I do know some of the rules, due to my previous English teachers in school, there is still much that I do not know. But, through the course of this past semester I have learned a great deal about different and new rules. This class has taught me a great deal about writing and how to correctly write an essay. Writing is a system of many rules and is a way for people to express their creativity. This class has given me much room to express myself creatively and gain more knowledge.
I enjoy expressing my thoughts in writing. Furthermore, even if the topic is not a personal opinion, I like to embark on the subject with my person opinion, rather than just the content for a subject. Using this allows me a purpose for the writing,
There are other areas in my writing that I have improved on. I have improved on my grammar, verb constructions, use of verb tenses and organizational skills to make my writing flow better when reading. My overall progress in completing this ten weeks course was wonderful. Every steps and skills I learned in this English class will help me to improve on my writing skills in my other classes and will also help me in my future
In the beginning of this writing course, my knowledge toward this subject was not too strong. However, I have gained not only a significant amount of learning material, but also a new found pleasure for writing and grammar. I learned how to communicate with clarity and precision, and also how to make decisions (grammar, diction and word choice) appropriate to situation and audience. In the beginning of this course with having to do project one, I did not know what was expected of the teacher so I did it how I thought it was going sound right and “look” good. Little did I know that my essay did not follow the guidelines and that I was not good at describing things like I assumed, I was.
Writing has always been a challenge for me and I was hesitant to pursue my Master’s degree because of it. I applied in the hopes of learning to make improvements and to become a decent writer. I knew the program would push me and it has. I feel my writing has improved and I can spot major mistakes I’ve been making thanks to the feedback I’ve received in this class.
Final Reflection Over the course of the semester, I was challenged in different ways regarding my writing skills, group work, and ability to take constructive criticism. I think that this class truly did push me to reach new heights of my writing ability, and working with others helped me get there. Overall I enjoyed this class and it was always a nice break from the regular day, and being in such a small and close environment, helped me create constructive working relationships with my fellow classmates quite successfully.
As the semester is finishing up, I look back at this class and reflect my learning and thoughts about this class. I look back and see how much I’ve learned, such as the six plus 1 traits, word choice, and placings of words. These teachings will help me throughout my life, such as scholarship applications, college classes, job applications, and so much more. My thoughts on writing has changed dramatically.
The art of argument persuasion I’ve learned in this course is so beneficial for my marketing major. Other than that, it made me develop the essay writing skills necessary for success in my studies at the university level. This English course also taught me how powerful written words can be, and how the delivery of the tone is important for the reader. The tone of a narrative is different than the tone of a research, where the difference makes the paper. Also, the power in written words tells how much it is crucial to mankind.
