Background
Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology is the understanding and control of matter at dimensions of roughly 1 to 100 nanometers .A nanometer is 10-9 of a meter. In nanoscale science, engineering and technology, nanotechnology involves imaging, measuring, modeling, manufacturing, and manipulating matter at this type of length scale. At the nanoscale, the physical, chemical, and biological properties of materials differ in fundamental and valuable ways from the properties of individual atoms and molecules or bulk matter. Nanotechnology research is directed toward understanding and creating improved materials, devices, and systems that exploit these new properties.Nanotechnology is a dynamic and expanding research area in the study of Mechanical Engineering. The research activities of nanotechnology are built upon traditional mechanical engineering disciplines, but extended into the nanoscale science and technology with the use of modern experimental and computational tools

Hershal C.Brewer (2005.1) and Michael Bird (2006.1) concur that ISO 17025 quality system brings about the recongnition of testing competence.ISO 17025 brings about an effective marketing tool to submit tenders for testing and calibration. It protects the laboratory data integrity in the case of any legal implications. Testing facilities and laboratories seeks ISO 17025 accreditation to meet a specific customer’s needs, to enhance marketability, or satisfy the requirements of a tender would be advised to become accredited by ISO 17025 standards. ISO17025 is not the only method of accreditation, but it does provide a level of visibility that few other programs offer because it is an internationally-recognized standard. Organisations who are looking to contract out testing services very often look for ISO17025 accreditation for this very
