When he was a small child, he established relationships with his mother and elder sisters as caregivers, he believed that establishing good relationship would enable him to be rewarded. After reflecting upon his social interactions, he noticed he and his friends were unknowingly engaging using intellectual skills. This critical reflective narrative utilises Mattingly and Fleming’s (1994) three track reasoning model which is made up of procedural, interactive and conditional reasoning narrative reasoning was later added to this model (Unsworth, 2011) cited in Duncan (2011) and this has also been utilised. I have made use of this model to describe, analyse and explore a critical incident from my professional practice within my reflective narrative account. Bannigan and Moores, (2009) maintain that the use of this model enables the development of personal reasoning, thinking and creative problem solving skills. John’s (2009) model of reflection has also been used to guide my thinking and provide structure throughout this reflective process. In addition
Literacy narratives help accomplish multiple tasks so their work can fall into the genre of narrative literacy. Looking into Graff , Barrientos , and Alexie narrative stories we see they all share the same task, which is to share their experience with reading. Other task they incorporated into their stories was to share tips o how to read. For example, using cliff notes to give you a heads up on what you will be reading. Graff shows us how he used cliff notes to engage in a "classic" book, therefore he was able to annotate the reading.
My field experience consisted of attending 3 Newton’s high school volleyball practices and the end of the season playoffs. Upon arrival I was greeted by old friends that are a part of the program. The coaches were not there yet so it was the girls and captains responsibility to set up nets and begin practice. The girls socialized for majority of the time and waited last minute to put up the nets. Once nets were up they would began to stretch and warm up then begin practice without the coaches.
In 2008 I was living a fairy tale. I relocated from Indiana to Georgia. Within a year I had 5 credit cards and new home and car. I got engaged to my middle school sweetheart. We purchased our first house which my father prepared my for ever since I was 18 years old.
I am a failure is all I could think. To say that my education was spiraling out of control would be an understatement. Efforts were not focused on improving myself through knowledge, and I certainly paid no attention to the subordination to my pedagogical superiors. My grades were suffering, I gave no prudence to my future, and whatever energy I had left after my tomfoolery was concentrated to embellishing a facade of aplomb. But, I am not here to brood over my past mistakes and failures; I am here to enlighten them, illuminating my transformation from a distracted child to a self-driven young adult.
The importance of having a mentor relationship has been important in his life and has aided in making challenging decisions. The aid of such individuals have helped in molding the philosophy he has regarding decisions now. The use of small groups have aided in growth in his life and decisions he has made regarding the issues of focused study. The relationship he has with his family has a great impact on his decisions made.
An event that transitioned me from being a child to moving up into adulthood would be when I got my first job. I say this because now I get to make my own money and spend it how I want to spend it. Before, I always needed to ask my parents for money so I can go to places I wanted to go but after getting a job it showed me that now I needed to work, and earn, my paycheck rather than it just being given to me. When I began earning money it gave me a slight perspective of how my parents had to earn their money to get things they wanted along with my other siblings and me. When I had my own spending money I immediately wanted to begin paying for my wants and needs, just to experience what it was like having that sort of responsibility.
