How In the 7th grade our basketball team was good, we had never played together and our chemistry came out pretty well. The first team we played was Derby, they’ve always been good in about every sport. We worked hard at practice every day leading up to Gameday. We won that game, in fact we won every game except for two in the regular season, we lost to Andover Central and Augusta. Then we had to play Derby in the championship, it was a hard fought game, but in the end, we lost by 3. It was very emotional afterwards, it was very quiet the next day at school. Coming into the next season we weren’t for sure who our coach was going to be and how hard he was going to be on us, the first day of tryouts was all about conditioning and seeing who was a hard worker. After the three difficult days of tryouts, our coaches came and talked to us, he rated us on a scale from 1 to 10 on how we were, if you were rated below a 5 then you got cut. Not many people got cut though, when we had our first practice as a team it was all about defense, we had …show more content…
Our first from Andover Central by a buzzer beater, and our second from Derby by 3, but other than that we won all of our games by 5 or more. In the league tournament we beat Derby North, by more than 15, and McPherson by more than 5 points. Finally, we got another shot at Derby, we only had one practice before the championship game. When we walked into Derby North middle school the 7th grade championship game was starting. After that we had to play, it was quiet, then our student section walked in and it got loud. I was really nervous after warm-ups, when I was walking to do the tip-off. The nerves went down when I won the tip, it was a good game all the way until halftime. We walked into the locker room up by 10, near the end of the game they got frustrated, we ended up winning by 9 points. We won the league championship, and beat Derby, It was the greatest
“Why can’t we get into our freaking offense!?” This is all I really remember from Coach McKendrick at halftime last year against Niles North in what was a tough night for our basketball team. Prior to this, we beat New Trier at home and then went on the road and beat the pre-season unanimous vote to win conference, Highland Park, in our first conference game. Before the New Trier game, our game plan was simple: we were smaller, but faster, so we were going to run the court and make this is a fast pace game. We executed our gameplan, and we won.
December 3 2015 was the Newton Railers seventh grade basketball team second away game. I was waiting all day for the basketball game it seemed like the day was endless. Finally 2:50 came up on the clock to let me know it was time to leave class and get ready to get on the bus. I got all my gear and got on the bus. I put my headphones on a got pumped for our game.
We finished the season with one loss and we went into the tournament with our first game against Republic and we won pretty easy. We played against Bothwell in the final in Marquette. I was really nervous as I can remember and it was really hot in the gym. The game started and we were up by 4 at halftime. The second half started
Where Berent, Cael, Trevor, Xavier, and I drove up to play for the state cup. The rest of the team was with their parents but we decided to carpool to save money. We were all joking around until we figured out that we were going to play the older tempo team, Tempo Blaze. At first, we thought that this would be a sweep, that we would win the whole tournament without worrying, but know we have to play the team that has never lost this year and we have never beaten for as
Today is the second game of the, 2014 baseball state tournament, held in Wahpeton ND. My team and I are so pumped! We get to play our rivals, Fargo. We only hate them, because we play them so much. We drove down to Wahpeton in groups within our team.
We blew teams out. We got blown out. Despite some early struggles, we were able to advance to the semifinals, but lost in a thriller. Even though we lost, it was the best game we played by far; the kids learned to play together as one team. The season was always filled with excitement and anticipation, one play after the
The June 27th, 2015 championship game for our local West Hanover baseball team, it was a beautiful day Central PA perfect for the great game of baseball. Looking back it was a day I will never forget, possibly one of the most important days of my life. We were playing our rival team the undefeated Hershey teams, us only having one lose in our regular season to the one and only Hershey team. This team was loaded with athletes their cocky attitudes. They were like the Yankees and we were the Phillies, we were the underdogs
February sixth was the day of my last middle school game. We were playing our rivals , Ledford middle school. The first time we played them we only lost by two points. The first five starters for Ledford and our first five including myself were all standing at half court for tip off. The ref. threw the ball up and Gillian tipped it back to me.
Today I'm going to be talking about Melba. The reason why is because she is an important person of why integration ended. To start off she almost died because of a racist people as a young child because the doctor took away her medicine for her to stay alive. Then she wants to attend a all white school Central High. And she gets to because Little Rock is integrating
I will never forget that encounter the intense sun, the endless horizon, the infinite shades of blue that dissolved any boundary between sky and trees. The views were like swimming into a kaleidoscope, deceptively plain "Lake Winaukee" sign on the outside, but a show of colors on the inside, waiting to shock and, mesmerize me. Those colors! Sails on the horizon covered the lake; streaks of sunlight illuminated them, the swaying wildlife creating a dance of rhythm. Beautiful, preserved life synchronizing every movement with the camp sight creating one living entity.
Well there we were we had one more team to beat to get the state champs title. I 'm the Oakland thunder 's half back and i 'm a line backer. I 'm 16, and 210 lbs i can hit. We just got here and i lead the warm ups we were doing hitting drills at that point, that 's when things went bad we all hear a snap and we all crowd around our quarterback.
The first two tryouts came and I was fairly confident I would make the team, but waiting for that email was one of the most nerve-wracking times in my life. I was sitting in my bed, waiting for the email to show up. I was a river of sweat. My heart was beating while I opened the message; Congratulations on making the boys soccer team; I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to start the season.
The players on the opponent 's team were huge they looked like monsters about to crush us. After the coaches were done doing the roster check we shook hands with the other team and headed onto the field. The coaches got the teams hype and everyone got set for kickoff I am there (corner and kick returner). The team kicked the ball off and oh no I dropped the open kick off
It was our first game of the season against the Menominee Maroons. We seemed confident because we had a great week at practice against the JV team. We were ready for opening kickoff and we kicked first. Mike Wanio was our kicker and he set up the ball on the tee. I was on the right side for kickoff and we started to get ready.
Air ball— again. My form was lost, coordination gone, and so was my patience. I’ve stopped playing basketball for 3 months mainly because of school work and things going on in my life. I was determined to get my skills back no matter how long it’ll take. I started a game of basketball with other people inside the gyms court.
