Ever since I arrived at the high school, there has been one man that was my teacher, coach and friend when I needed one. This is coming from a person you really wouldn’t expect to be be this person in your life. Coach Minnich, Mr. Minnich, Ryan Minnich, (only off school grounds). The high school life has been a struggle, but he has made it a little easier.
It was six o 'clock at the Friendswood junior high mustang field I was playing strong safety and I had to cover the extra receiver they brought out by the snap I was already beating my man and the next thing I know the ball was sailing my way straight to me. I am 13 years old and I am on the Friendswood junior high C-football team I am a second string slot receiver and starting strong safety and I 'm also a second string strong side linebacker it was our last game of the season,so we really wanted to go out on the win or a record for the season was one way in five losses and one tie,we hadn 't had a great season so we especially wanted to go out on a win. We got the ball first on kick off and we made a touchdown on the first few drives. On
When I was 7 years old I went to my first high school game with my mom, the teams that played were Roosevelt and Flower. I will never forget that day Sept 8th at 8PM friday night lights. My older cousin Brett Pierce was the starting Cornerback for flowers, I admired him because he the starting Corner and he was ranked #23 in the Nation for his position. My cousin ended the game with 18 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 3 forced fumbles that was one of the greatest days of my life. After the game was over I asked my mom could she sign me up to play football, she told me I wasn’t big enough. My mother is very over protective of me since I am her only son.
I started grid kid football when I was in 7th grade and I am still playing until this very day. I used to play lots of running back and wide receiver and some corner. My coaches really liked me and it was my first year and I already took people that been playing longer than me postions.
Whenever my mom has company at her house, guests always ask about the plaque that hangs in the living room on the wall. It reads Championship Mvp, 14-0 season, Jonesboro Wildcats. My mom always smiles and says, “Ask Markus about it.” I don’t mind telling people about the championship game. It is after all one of my fondest memories playing sports.
Growing up i've always liked football. The Dallas Cowboys to be exact. My fantasy would to play on the Cowboy’s team, and now that fantasy is coming true.
“Touchdown Lafayette!” This was the start to my high school career and we were losing in the first half of the game. It took them forever to score so I believed that the defense could go hard and stop them just once. We knew if we lost it would be some smack going on social media so someone had to step up. Its 2nd and 12 in the 3rd quarter and we are winning by 4. Down set hut, the person I 'm guarding runs deep and I drop back. I see the ball in the air so I do what I’m supposed to do so I jump to get it. The best thing just happened to me, I caught it. The receiver tried to take it from me but I wouldn 't let go. While the defense walks back to the sideline everyones jumping on me like I’m famous. Then a couple more drives later I get a tackle and then Mark catches a interception, so when I blocked for him I blind sided somebody. Coach tells us that if we could just get one stop we are going to win.
I always thought football would be really really hard and I would be the only kid that couldn 't score a touchdown, but that all changed on a single big run. It was a Saturday morning and I was getting ready for my second big game. Our record was 1.0 and we were looking for the win to be 2.0. Every game I have a goal, and that goal was to score the biggest touchdown of the game, but the team we were going against probably wouldn 't let that happen. But who cares I still believed I could do it.
It was 1965, I was in NYC,Brooklyn. I was walking through the projects, the clouds were crying, raindrops proliferating. Streets were flooded with Whites. I was depressed, I'm always getting mistreated because I'm always different than white people. They would push me, jeer at me, and even spread rumors about me. My eyes were watery, I felt the same as the clouds, heartbroken and anxioused. I started to feel isolated and felt lonely. The winds started to dance, All of a the sudden a yellow yucky paper was flying around,I used my brawny strength to grab the paper. It was the Basketball tryout papers.
My favorite sport is football. I have always liked football ever since I was a kid. I played football during my middle school years and also my high school years. I was injured during my high school game against the Bernalillo Spartans. I remember that game like it was yesterday. I was a linebacker for the Cuba Rams. The play that I was injured during was a hail mary play and we were hoping to win the game. I jumped to catch the ball and got hit so hard, while in the air, I fell to the ground and knew immediately I had injured my back.
I began playing on the varsity team as a junior, with no prior football experience ever. I played soccer for the last ten years, so football was nothing like I have ever experienced. I struggled mightily for almost the entirety of the first year. When I joined the team, I was 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighed a mere 135 pounds. Being one of
This personal response includes three examples of how one influence has changed my mind about a subject or subjects.
The summer before junior year, I spent every weekday at work and then I went to football practice. I was ecstatic for junior year, because it was going to be my year. I was captain of the defense and was on my way to All-State and All-League titles. In July we always go to Camp Rilea for a few days of football scrimmages and practices. It had been a good trip so far, and we were looking extremely powerful for this upcoming season, but on the second to last day we were playing kickball and I dove for the ball and broke my collarbone. At first I did not realize I had broken it, I just thought I had dislocated my shoulder, but when I looked down I could see my bone trying to protrude out of the skin. Coach Bain drove me to the hospital, and when
Any football player could tell you that their career goal is to make it to the league, and that is it. Although, I too share this same goal—I want to take it further than just the league. I have been playing this sport for majority of my life, it has become more then just a sport to me: it has become a way of life. The joy I get when I put on my pads, the rush of adrenaline I received walking on to the field on game day, and just the thrill of the game is enough to make me do this for a lifetime. Realistically, that isn’t possible. This is what pushed me to do more research into National Football League (NFL) and see if there is a way to still incorporate football in my life without physically playing.
A life experience was that my son becoming who he is in football. As a little boy watching him watch football on the TV screen and him say that will be him on that TV screen one day. As a parent the time wasn’t coming fast enough. When he was around eight or nine years old he started little league football. Every Saturday morning waking up around nine o’ clock being in the sun cheering, worrying if your child would ever get hurt. Telling him that’s his hard work will play off one day. He just has to keep working hard and show people how much you love football. Many opportunities and one bad decision can mess that all up. Watching him in middle school play football amazing, but watching how smart he was with football knowing the ins and outs looking like a high school kid
