11. “Naked Dance” At times, kids display horrible tantrums, irrespective of the location, whether it is a mall, shop, or a public place. All they require is attention from others, no matter how wicked their deeds are. One day I was in the shop busy with the purchase of household materials. It was during this time, when I had only turned about 5 seconds; my daughter had a horrible desire to strip off her clothes, napkin, and everything that she wore at the moment. However, I was absolutely unaware of this mishap, until a considerate lady bothered to tap me on my shoulder and informed me, “Excuse me, my dear lady, your kid is swaying naked beside the potatoes” I rushed to the location as swiftly as I can and retrieve her before she became a showpiece. 12. “ And you …show more content…
“I wished I never asked him” Before narrating the incident, let me inform you that I’m a proud parent. Whatever my kid articulates and commits, it is awesome to me. But this reply almost knocked me off and hurt my arrogance. The incident happened on a hot summer. My son who was then 5 years old attended his first Kung Fu lesson in a steamy Dojo. After the challenging class, the delightful coach approached me and appreciated my son for being exceptionally heedful and bowed before me. As usual, I was overwhelmed with pride and asked my kid, “How was it, my sweetheart? He replied, “I was sweating my balls off”. No doubt, I was shaken off by his reply and I wished I never asked him and broke into a sprint from there. 15. “Watch baby, it’s your dad’s boss” Kids are unpredictable. At times, they spill out the secrets to the last person you ever shared it with and embarrass you in front of everyone. This will certainly provide a warning that the next time share or complain, it is desirable to watch out for your kids. The instance was done by me and it was recounted by my dad’s friends. It happened when I was aged in between 5-6, you can judge my carefree attitude and I was attending my dad’s company
Towards the end of 1890 on the Pine Ridge and Rosebud reservations in South Dakota, the US military and Sioux Native Americans got into an altercation. Around 300 men, women, and children died with casualties from both sides. By January 15, 1891 all of the Sioux had surrendered and war was averted. The main reason for the battle was the Sioux Native American’s resistance to the U.S. Army and white expansion which triggered The Ghost Dance movement. It was getting late and I thought heard the sound of anger, I knew it was my father. My father was a part of the SS, this stood for “Strict Sense”, all I knew about it was that it was a Nazi party. He was a very strict man, but enjoyed spending time with me. My mother was not very happy with his work, but supported him to make him happy.
Dancing with the Ghosts The Ghost Dance is a familiar topic in the history of Native American culture as well as in the history of the United States. It brings forth images of people chanting, moving in a slow circle, perhaps dressed in clothing with fringe and feathers. It conjures remembrances of the Sioux Indians and the Wounded Knee Massacre, with pictures of Native Americans dying and being buried in mass graves by victorious looking soldiers. It appears to be only a small blip in history, just another instance of the mistreatment of the native people who inhabited this land first but fell victim to America’s Manifest Destiny, seemingly insignificant, a shadow, almost a ghost in the history books.
“Did that really just happen?” I asked everyone smiling and out of breath. My coach gathered us together and congratulated us with great enthusiasm which was rare from him. We lined up on the line to high five the other
I had no answer for him at the time, mostly because I was coerced into going to the lesson to begin with. I was being stubborn, having already explained myself to my parents. Or at least what I felt like they could take. That last softball sits in my closet as a constant reminder of what I spent thirteen years of my life doing. Sometimes I pick it up and feel the familiar ridges beneath my fingertips.

This night I rode with Officer Innocent. Unlike the other officers I rode with he is closer to my age and could give me a lit bit more of feedback on where I am in my career and plans. Most of the night was working security at the Dance Marathon on Livingston at the RAC. Mostly we just walked around and watched students and if we got a call we headed out. However, at least from the looks of the night everybody who was out was at this Dance Marathon so the night was a little slow.
My young, naive mind thought people don’t do that anymore, that was only when black people were slaves. Being so oblivious and not trusting my parents word, I acted up in class and was disrespectful to my teachers. My first suspension in school was in kindergarten for flipping off another student. I was unaware, the meaning of this gesture. A kindergartener put into In School Suspension for holding up their middle finger.
The lights go on, and the music starts. The dancer’s heart pounds, “bump, bump, bump, bump.” Then, the magnificent dancer awes with her glittering costume, and flawless movements. Some of the audience may watch with amazement. Others may not be so impressed.
I have always had a burning passion for dance since I was a young girl. My first time on a stage, I was immediately hooked. The overpowering feeling of a crowd of people watching me as I do what I love, is a feeling I have always admired. Dance has developed my character and personality in many different ways. I have been taught responsibility, discipline, integrity and much more.
The sound of the whistle jolted me into action. I dove from the block, and a wave of silence crashed over me as I hit the water. For a moment, there was a sense of serenity as I swam under the surface. The spell broke as I rose for air. I could hear everyone yelling and cheering.
Ever since i was young i fell in love with the art of dance. When i finally joined i felt like i was a little behind hence everyone was in my class was dancing since they were toddlers. My first day of dance was pretty nerve racking. My teacher would say to do something and i wouldn't know what to do because i didn't know any dance vocabulary. I would have to look around and try to fit in as much as possible so my teacher wouldn't think i wasn't fit for the class.
