"Rin, Rin wake up!"
It was the final few days of our spring break during the last year of our grand adventure at mines, and we were out on a small sailboat we rented. In celebration and reflection of surviving our time at the Colorado School of Mines, me and my friends decided to sail along the coast of California. We enjoyed the combination of the warm sunlight and the cool ocean mist, things that we never feel back in Colorado. The boat was just big enough to carry my and my friends Juan and Hannah, and we were having a blast.
"Rin, I think you should see this", Hannah said to me with an air of urgency. I sat up, confused and anxious as to why she would have anything to be anxious about. Shaking my head to try to evade the clutches of sleep, I

We were lost on raging waters, and I took initiative to be the leader with my teamates diligently working along side me. Mines had always had a key virtue of teamwork and community, and I know that that helped us through the storm. Hannah was able to use some of the knowledge she had gained from a minor she took for a year to communicate to those we were unfamiliar with. Juan was able to translate his knowledge of machines to something that he hasn't worked on, and was proud of it.
From climbing that mountain to get whitewashed at the M, to going to field studies to experience our majors applications, many great experiences and memories will be treasured forever. I know that our sailing adventure may even seem dull compared to all of the exciting things we did and accomplished at Mines. Mines wasn't just a school to us, it was a chance to change the future and impact people in a positive way we didn't believe was possible. It brought us help in aspects of life that we couldn't even imagine. And for all of this, I'm very
Antwone Fisher Memoir Essay Finding Fish is a story of a young, unloved boy growing up and overcoming all obstacles and hardships in order to become an amazing man. Antwone Quenton Fisher was born on August 3, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born in a prison to Eva Mae Fisher and Eddie Elkins, who was killed before he was born. As a result of this, Antwone grew up in the foster system and he was placed in the unloving home of his foster parents, Mrs. Isabella Pickett and Reverend Ulysses Pickett.
SHALLOW CRANKIN’ FALL CRAPPIE Crappie fishing; to most, bring visions of cool spring mornings with fog lingering over the surface of the lake and burning off shortly after rigging a bobber and a minnow to cast to a brush pile and wait for the Crappie to find your bait. Classic Crappie fishing to be sure and very effective to say the least, as many of you, like myself, grew up fishing this way almost exclusively. In recent years I have come to enjoy a new way, for me at least of chasing crappies. Crankbaits!
As Battalion Commander, I have gained valuable leadership qualities and confidence in leading our core as a team in a disciplined and professional manner; something that was already being implemented while working towards achieving Eagle Scout. My interest in math and science started at a young
The National Baltimore Aquarium is one of the largest non profit aquarium in the United States. The aquarium strives to help inspire people on how important it is to preserve the beauty of the ocean and also why some species are becoming endangered. The aquarium is an iconic landmark offering marine-life exhibits, a dolphin show, shark tank and walk-through rain forest. Every year the aquarium has a new exhibits and shows for the public. This aquarium is one of my favorite vacation spot because I really like how the aquarium is constructed and It's a family friendly, interactive educational experience.
Every year, my family goes on a snowmobile trip with my friend Aftyn’s family in Spearfish, South Dakota. About two years ago, we drove out for our trip as usual. The first day was super fun. We stopped at Four Corners, a fun hill to climb, and we did lots of racing. The second day was a little more eventful.
Beverly enjoyed her job as a Gunnery Instructor very much. She learned how to deal with people and get along with people around her. She also learned how to make the best out of any situation no matter what came her way. Beverly said “It’s a good program for life,” this touched me the most because serving changed her life for the better. Beverly set up her life up
In this Country Life 1904 article the friend who “bagged 110 lbs” is likely Mr. Battelle from the Toledo Post 1885 article above: M askinonge in Blackstone and Crane Lakes average from 14 lbs to 35 lbs. A good angler of my acquaintance bagged 110 lbs of maskinonge during one day, the heavy weight of the fish caught bringing up this large total. One hour is often spent in fighting these fierce fish, and even a 14- pounder will make things exciting for 45 min. No fish in the world can give more sport to the first- class angler than the maskinonge.
Who knew going to the Lake of the Ozarks would be so much fun? Before I went to the Lake of the Ozarks I was bored to pieces at home. I was packing and just sitting around after that. I was watching tv and doing nothing. It was horrible because I was so anxious to just leave and get there.
What started as a thrilling new adventure for American trapper and hunter Sanger Rainsford quickly became a nightmare. On Friday April 15th, 2016, Rainsford traveled to Ship-Trap Island, a small spit of land off the coast of the Caribbean, along with family friend Whitney Johnson with the intention of mounting a hunting expedition in the Amazon. After going up onto the afterdeck and hearing a gunshot, he ran to the railing to see what was all the commotion. He had climbed onto the railing to get a better view and quickly lost his balance, subsequently being thrown into the bitterly cold waters.
It was the middle of january in the cold thirty to thirty-five degrees with a bone chilling breeze from the north, and the christmas break is almost over, there is only enough time to go ice fishing one more time. Not only is christmas break almost over but ice fishing season is too. It was my Brother(Matthew),My Grandpa, a friend of mine with the name of Dale and I on this fishing trip. The fishing trip included a 1 night stay in the ice shack that my father had bought from a neighbor 's garage sale for a good deal, this shack is built from oak slabs, it has a wood burning fireplace and 5 holes in the floor perfect for my family and friends the only thing that I could say was wrong with it was the window from the north side of the shack had
A Montana Fishing Trip As we walked down to the river, the birds were making a whistling noise, and it was quite annoying because the birds were so loud Will and I could barely hear each other. When we were walking down to the river on a rock that was on the path was a famous quote from Muhammad Ali and it was about the river and it said “Rivers, Ponds, Lakes, and Streams - they all have different names, but they all contain water. Just as religions do - they all contain truths.”
Today I woke up pretty early for a summer day, around 7am. I walked downstairs and asked my dad if we could go fishing today. He said yes and suggested that we get ready to leave. I got my fishing pole, fishing net, and my extra fishing pole string. While I was getting my stuff my dad called his friend Jimmy and asked if he wanted to come as well.
I 've always loved fishing, ever since I was able to hold a rod and reel. Fishing really calms people down, and makes them have patience. There 's nothing like a cool morning, with fog rising over the pond. Even just thinking about it gets my heart pumping with excitement. There 's nothing that can get my adrenaline flowing more, than hookin ' a big one.
The day came it was early morning, bird singing, warm temperature, and a beautiful blue sky perfect weather. I woke up and it was fishing time, I was so excited. I remember my room being so messy and my parents told me to clean before we left, so I did. I was so excited that I cleaned my room and did some other chores around the house so fast cause I just wanted to go fishing. We got to the car and left to rocky mountain at our fishing spot and I was just being like most annoying kid would say, "Where are we?", "Are we lost?", and "Are we there yet?
I cannot recall any other time I experienced so much joy and satisfaction. It was on the warmth of a spring day in March, 2015. After finishing the spring semester at high school, the school gives students a one-week holiday to relax or to go somewhere. A beach trip in the spring is always a good idea for us who live near the sea, but this time I was on the bus with my classmates heading to the airport. The school had organized a Habitat Trip to the Philippines, where my classmates and I decided to go to build houses.
