The first time I went kayaking was a great adventure and opened me up to so many new things! My two friends, Juan and Bobby, went on a kayaking trip to the Holston River. When they got back they told me about the amazing time that they had. My mom and I decided that we wanted to try it out too, but little did we know what an amazing time we would have. My mom and I got up very early in the morning and headed off to a large nearby lake that we had seen when driving past. Thankfully we had decided to put the kayaks on the car the night before, because otherwise it would have been quite difficult since it was still pitch black out when we left. On the way, there was a lot of fog and it was hard to see. It had taken us several days before we could go out because the weather had been too cold for kayaking. When we got there it was only just dawn and there was …show more content…
As we set them into the water there were fishermen who were putting their motor boats in. when we felt the water we were surprised by the temperature, as it felt slightly warmer than the air. Once we had our life vests on we climbed into the kayaks and we headed off. At first it was a bit wobbly but it wasn’t difficult to get accustomed to the rocking of the waves and soon we started moving a little bit faster. Soon we had made our way out of the bay and as we rounded a corner we saw the bright golden sun just peaking over the very top of a distant mountain. We were immediately amazed by the brilliance and as the sun kept rising it began to light up the mist around us and turn the sky pink. By now a slight breeze had started up and was slowly blowing away the mist. We continued paddling along the edge of the lake away from the cold shade of the cliffs on the other side but we quickly began to tire out. Before long we came across a flat beach with fine sand and we decided to stop and take a
One day, on a Saturday afternoon . We went to the boat. The boat is parked at the bow at Newman lake. The boat is a blue and white color. The blue is a dark blue but faded.
Mackinac Island. Never thought I would be here, but I was, FOR REAL! We got off the boat and waited for our bikes to come out of the boat. We got our bikes and started our route around the island. We rode about half a mile, when my cousin Andie said she had to go to the bathroom.
Hello, are you doing, fine without me? I am doing fine with my new job. Currently we are stopping nearby the island of Hawaii. We came here whaling to restock the supplies and to rebuild our food supplies, because recently we’ve only eaten 2 pieces of crackers. Sorry for not following your warnings, but I really wanted to start my dream job.
Shoot a banded duck I love to shoot a banded duck which is a duck with a band on its foot that the DNR has placed on the duck. The band has a special code on it, if you send the code number into the DNR and they will call you. They will then share with you where the bird has migrated from. I think it would be very fun and cool to shoot one.
Lakes Every time I stare out across a lake, a million questions flow through my head. But the number one question that I ask the most about them is “why?” or “how”, and I’ve wondered about these big reservoirs of water since I’ve journeyed onto one.
Caught by the Sea: My Life on Boats Caught by the Sea: My Life on Boats is about the Gary Paulsen’s life on the sea. In this book he talks about his main voyage. Mr. Paulsen just got out of the army and had nothing to do and nowhere to be. For some reason he wanted to go see the beach so bad that he felt like he was going to die.
but I thought it was nice to finally be able to stretch my legs. As we came back around to where our kayaks had been we realized that my mom’s kayak had floated away and was out in the middle of the lake! My mom thought about swimming out to it but it was too far out. I got in to kayak and went to get it, I pulled up to it and tied the handles on the back of both kayaks together so I could pull it. As I got close to the island my mom waded out to me, untied it and pulled it on to the shore.
A Day in Canada Tap Tap. “Matthew time to get up.” I wake up to see my dad looking at me. “ Good morning, I say” even though it was 4:30 in the morning. The day was going to be a ok day, as for me I got dressed, packed my suitcase, and we left the house.
The sun was scorching out heat as it was warming up the city. On the other side the ocean was all admirable dark blue. Waves were shattering surfers. But there was something special in the ocean.
When we got there we took a look around the cabin and I almost hit my head on a ceiling fan. We headed outside, but before we went on the speedboat we went on the pontoon to see how small and secluded Lake May was. After we got back my little sister Piper and I went to change into our bathing suits. We headed to the middle of the lake on the speed boat with all the items and people we needed; the driver (Russ), the spotter (our father), the tubers (Piper and I), and the tubing equipment. We got far enough out Piper and I had our life jackets on we climbed onto the tube and we were off after we knew the signals.
Being very fortunate to travel, my wife and I decided to traveo to Hawaii. It was our first trip to that paradisaical place. The experience was fabulous from the very beginning. We flew to the island, and before the plane could land, we were amazed at beautiful blue and clarity of the sea. As we reached towards the beach we were able to see the bottom of the ocean.
A warm morning, sun shining with a slight breeze, and calm waters; the perfect day to learn how to water ski. I had never been water skiing before, I barely knew what it was, I was anxious to say in the least. I stood on the dock as my parents maneuvered the boat into the water, I’ve never been so uncertain. My family reassured me that everything would be okay as I was strapped up my life jacket. I stood on the edge of the boat, apprehensive, but I had to jump in the water, it was now or never.
The sound of the whistle jolted me into action. I dove from the block, and a wave of silence crashed over me as I hit the water. For a moment, there was a sense of serenity as I swam under the surface. The spell broke as I rose for air. I could hear everyone yelling and cheering.
When I was eight years old, I joined the Shaker Sharks swim team. I was put in the lowest group and struggled to swim even a 25. I considered swimming a hobby at best, not even realizing it was a sport. Two years later, my family and I moved to Solon. I switched teams to join the Solon Stars Swim Club.
The ocean looked like an enormous pool of wonder. It was exceptionally blue that day with a slight green undertone. The surface looked as though it was covered with millions of diamonds crashing with the waves and kissing the sand. I remember the sand in between my feet, like standing on a coarse cloud that I could just seep into. The water teasing my toes and running back into hiding.
