There is a legend long forgotten with time of beautifully enchanted jade that was made by the great humble Kaliko the god of masonry with the help of his brothers and sisters. Kaliko carved the earth with his steel chisel looking for the most stunning jade: green, orange, yellow, brown, lavender, white, grey, red, and black. He gave the best jade to the his brother Neamjo and sister Jomaen the twins of imagination. Neamjo and Jomaen were split personalities Jomaen was an inventor, she came up with the idea of stars so the night sky could be lit up at night as opposed to the black night with the sole light of the moon. There were some anomalies in the pile such as two swords. Each piece was made from a different color of jade. Later he had them endowed with different talents, but now one knows what these powers are or if these items really exist until now but this legend does not end well. When their Father saw the Earth all dug up, he punished each of his children who helped Kaliko make these enchanted items by forcing them to destroy their most prized possession like the twins paints and Dathsa’s pet phoenix , but rumor has it Kaliko did not shatter the jade items but hid them along with himself on

According to the legend, the first people of the Fifth World were given four lights but were dissatisfied with the amount of light they had on Earth. After many endeavors to slake the people, the First Woman engendered the sun to bring warmth and light to the land, and the moon to provide coolness and moisture. These were crafted from quartz, and, when there were bits of quartz that were left behind by the carving, they were tossed into the firmament to make stars. Like the Navajo, the Hopi believe there were worlds afore this one. The modern era is believed to be the Fourth World, and each world that came afore this one ended with the appearance of “the blue star.”
This Star meant more than just a star. This was their own. Religion, some jews will die for it. Some of the Jewish men went out and one came back and nobody believed him when he came back. A saber from the deepest sea, meant for a groom’s mortality. The bark of a basket held in fright while running from a bark with bite. A stony crown that’s made to share, found deep within a savage lair. A needle that pierced the lovely skin of a princess with beauty found within. A wavy lock of golden rope that once was freedom’s only hope.

Winter was the last book in the Lunar Chronicles and a very good novel; I really liked the overall story and series. In the beginning I was skeptic of starting “Cinder”, the first book, because I was weary that the fairy-tale nature of these books would be too cliché. However, I was pleasantly surprised, Winter kept my attention and had a more complex story line than I had expected. It was a mixture of fantasy and sci-fi, with just a hint of romance. Although the story itself is unrealistic, it didn’t seem out of the ordinary and fit well with the world the story took place.

In the 18th century, another one of the greatest artist of all time, Vincent Van Gogh illustrated a very personal painting. The Starry Night is now one of the most widely known paintings in the world, but the story and meaning is not. Both artist used dark and grim themes when it came to their creations, and that is what draws the public to them. In today 's society we are able to relate to the deeper and more mentally touching symbols of these pieces of art. Andrew Wyeth’s painting, Christina’s World shows a young woman in a empty field looking up at a grim farmhouse on a rustic summer day.
