On my application I will be able to talk about my community service through the school and Boy Scouts. I will also mention the leadership skills I have developed through Scouts. Colleges will want people who are good leaders. It will show them that I can work with a team of students or be an active member in the student body. Once in college my goals will be similar to those that I have for high school.
We are the go-to group in the building. If anyone needs help, our council is quick to happily and efficiently respond. Our members sacrifice hours upon hours of their time to help make the quality of the high school and community experience better for
Personal Essay I believe that I should be inducted into the National Junior Honor Society, because of the qualifications I have in character, attitude, education and service to Cliffside Park Middle School and our community. Being inducted into the National Junior Honor Society will help me grow as a person and will provide me with new challenges and skills. I will learn to become more responsible, to have time management, and will have the opportunity to help those in need. My service to the Cliffside Park has helped me learn to help others and to give to others. National Junior Honors Society As an individual i have a lot of good qualities, like being a leader and helping people when they need it or standing up for what i know is right. I have a lot of good qualities and I think that my good qualities should be spread throughout my school and community. I am fond of being a leader. I do Cheer and Volleyball because I like to lead my team and show them how being confident in what you’re doing can make you strive for greatness.I am a leader on the court and off the court as well. When I was an underclassman the definitions of clubs seemed to blur into an indistinguishable mass. Yet, I eventually realized that Key Club stood out because of its member’s desire to serve. For me, Key Club has become staying up late and drafting an email again and again, or spending hours organizing a program, and always getting to serve a school that has done so much for me. Despite its hardships, I have loved being the K2K East board member this year! Key Club has given me fantastic opportunities to serve my school and my community.
During my high school years I have worked at Little Caesars. I fulfilled my community service hours by attending the NJROTC ceca drill meet competition. Both of these positions required skills to work with customers and co-workers. In my opinion I have learned how to effectively communicate with other higher up personal and deal with difficult situations
Leadership, a drive to serve, and a strong character are crucial aspects of those who wish to live successful and prosperous lives, and unsurprisingly, are desirable traits for those in National Honor Society. Leadership is the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide others in forming a favorable outcome. Instances that I have exhibited leadership include being the captain for two years in a row for Black History Quiz Bowl and being both a counselor and teacher at a 4-H summer camp. The ability to serve helps bring out a person’s humility, selflessness, and deeper understanding of how the world interacts. Character is a culmination of traits that make up a well-rounded person, such as being altruistic or possessing comradeship.
Scholarship is one of the factors that National Honor Society prides itself on because this allows them to pick members who are driven, have ambition, and goals they would like to reach. These students volunteer throughout the school and outside of the school. These students participate in extra- curricular activities and maintain an average of 88 or above. NHS students not only want to better
After the Boy Scout Council had approved all of the planning and logistics, I was ready to implement it. I was the first scout in my troop to complete a food drive for the Frederick County Animal Control shelter, and I established contacts for future scouts from my troop to be able to complete similar projects. After an investment of 162 hours completed by everyone involved, a grand total of 3007.47 lbs. 9 oz. of animal food had been collected.
The National Honor Society is a top-notch group that many want to be part of, but for all of the wrong reasons. There are many traits one needs to successfully participate in the group; Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. During the course of my life, I dedicated it to learning new subjects and striving for top marks in my classes. Learning is an immense passion of mine that will continue to thrive. Throughout the years, I observed that certain people led their group to the correct path.
The trip was extremely worthwhile because I learned to work and communicate with other people that barely even knew. I also thought it was worthwhile because it helped me take a risk and do the high ropes challenge, which helped me step out of my comfort zone. This trip was relevant to SHSM because it taught us how to take risks and be safe while being active. I jogged around the camp o the first day and it helped me to admire the nature. In conclusion, I thought the trip to Cedar Glen was absolutely
The BSA was an experience that transformed me and I strive to encourage any and all to be a part of it. The second experience that has impacted my life is simply my drive to get good grades. In the past I 've always kept good grades in my classes and finished things neatly and on time. Over the years I have pursued and actively tried
It teaches you things that carry out through your life. A study by Harris Interactive found that 83% of men that were once in boy scouts agree that the values they learned from scouting are still very important to them today. That same percentage say they have been in real life situations where having been a scout has
