INTRODUCTION
The National Sample Survey (NSS) was started by the Government of India in 1950 to collect socio -economic data employing scientific sampling methods. Different subjects are taken up for survey in different rounds of NSS. The 55th round of NSS was an integrated survey on household consumer expenditure, employment-unemployment and informal non-agricultural enterprises (other than those engaged in industrial categories of ‘mining & quarrying’ & ‘electricity, gas and water supply’)
Raw data given is for Arunachal Pradesh (03) in the NSS 55th round (1999-2000), there are 417 observations, which comprise of the following categories-
• Work status which consists of three sub categories: Casual worker, Casual worker in public works, regular worker.
• Enterprise size (given by no. of workers) comprises of five sub categories: 1 to 5, 6 to 9, 10 & above but less than 20, 20 and above and not known.
• Sector which consists of two sub categories: rural and urban.
• Gender: Male and Female.
• Education which consists of 13 sub categories: Not literate, literate through attending: NFEC/AEC, literate through attending TLC, literate through attending others, literate but below primary, Primary School, Middle school, Secondary school, Higher secondary School, Graduate and above in : agriculture, Graduate and above in : engineering/technology, …show more content…

However it is difficult to interpret them and hence use a better alternative which is to estimate the results using predicted probabilities. To interpret we need the predicted probabilities of Y=1.Depending on the range of values that the covariates take, the probability of Y=1 varies in each case.
