The uses and benefits of produced crude oil are endless and we use each and everyone of them daily. Once crude oil is extracted from the ground, the oil undergoes distillation which is the beginning of creating by products (steemit 1). The second process is called cracking and reforming. Cracking is typically used to produce gas and jet fuel from heavier gasoils. Reforming is used to produce gas but is pulled out of lower-value oil. The final production of petroleum differs between refineries.
