The use of technological devices to cause emotional harm and distress to its victims has been around for quite some time. Cyberbullying becomes more prevalent as technology continues to develop, providing more ways for individuals to be bullied online. Cyberbullying has become a major issue for society, because it affects our homes and is very prominent among adolescent teens. And we must control the effects it has on our communities, by understanding how cyberbullying works, its effect in schools and the negative impacts it has on society. Cyber-bullying may seem meaningless since there 's no physical contact, but in reality, it can cause more harm to the victim, than its physical form. Behind those screens are real people with real feelings; some have been driven to depression, some victims to physical bullying, and some have been driven to the extent of self-harm. Wikipedia defines cyberbullying as the repeated use of information and technology communication to cause harm to another person. Cyberbullying works by giving the cyber bully the opportunity to harass another person online. Cyberbullying comes in two forms, the direct attacks and the cyberbullying by proxy. Direct attack involves direct messages of harassment and insults to the victims of cyberbullying, and cyberbullying by proxy uses other people to harass their victims. Sameer Hindu and Justin W.
