It’s never a good idea to make decisions on another woman’s behalf. Personally speaking, motherhood is more than simply the biological gift of life, it is raising the child through various developmental stages into adulthood, while producing and grooming a productive member of society. According to Matlin (2012), motherhood comes with stereotypical views of happiness and satisfaction, and that motherhood is a woman’s ultimate achievement in life. For some women, that stereotype may be true, though motherhood is not for every woman. A full-term pregnancy: forty weeks gestation, followed by childbirth, which could last several hours, leads to at the very least, eighteen more years of responsibility, and it produces a lifetime of various emotions,…show more content…
