Most of them are not satisfied with their self-image and their body. So, they try to change themselves to better in various ways. The one choice is plastic surgery. “A surgery that is dedicated to the reconstruction of facial and body defects and also involved with the enhancement of the appearance of a person through cosmetic surgery” (MedicineNet.com, 2016). It dues to the development of technologies and medical facilities are more efficient than in the past. Many Thai teenagers who are unhappy with their appearance and they decide to undergo plastic surgery, but the results do not go as planned. Certainly, it impacts directly on their mind and leads to many problems in life. When they are not satisfied with their new face and body, they will feel bad and very worry about their look. In a recent paper on this subject, Isak Ladegaard observes that the averages of girls who decide to go under the knife are more depressed and anxious than those who do not (2012). Moreover, the mistake after surgery makes them ashamed and wants to escape from the society. They will not want to see anyone even if their family. They require being isolated or being introvert. In a serious case, Teenagers are more likely to commit suicide because they cannot bear to live with the mistake. Although society in the present accepts plastic surgery, it also has many problems because they cannot control the way people react to them. In addition, the teenagers who choose plastic surgery such as breast augmentation, chin augmentation, and lip augmentation. They have to be patient because they must spend a long time to recover the wound. After the procedure, they also spend the time to take care of scars too. It makes them the waste of their time to do other activities or interact with others. They have to stay home until they look better. Moreover, they must change their routine, it due to the result of surgery. For instance, teenagers who undergo rhinoplasty must care very much about their nose. They cannot sleep like the same way. Likewise, teenagers who undergo lip augmentation cannot eat comfortably. Some case, they found that their month turned to left or right. To sum up, there are drawbacks of plastic surgery that affect to Thai teenagers in three ways such as a bad health, depression and confronting problem in life. However, teenagers should be self-assured or satisfied in their look and their body. If teenagers need to choose plastic surgery, they should know about these effects.
