A tremendous growth in the usage of smartphones has skyrocketed among all regions and across the world. Smartphones are technological devices that are a hybrid between a traditional cell phone’s function and the productivity of a computer which typically offer internet access, email capability, data storage, a camera and so much more. The use of smartphones has become a part of people’s everyday life and has ultimately taken a major role in various entertainment and educational settings. Along with unique benefits that this device can foresee, it can also be harmful to the mental and physical ability including relationships. Social media has created this negative aspect due to the misleading advertisements shown. Some people have pushed aside time to engage in a fitness routine because smartphones are taking up majority of the time in a day. Within those hours in the day, people tend to sit around binge eating while scrolling through Instagram or watching Netflix. However, there are a group of people who have become anorexic and bulimic because people want to envision themselves as model figures that are portrayed across social media. This leads individuals who spend long hours on their smartphones to no longer consume food, increase their fitness routine, throw up their diet, or even eating tiny portions of a meal. In fact, the media portrays a misleading perception on model images because majority of those pictures are unrealistic due to photoshop. Another physical ability that smartphones have created a negative impact to is – vision. Eye problems have occurred rapidly from the constant starring at a screen, including, when you lay in bed at night and the room is dark it develops a squint in your eyes while looking onto the mobile screen because the screen is bright and the environment is
