The Great War (TV)
The American Civil War or as some called “the war between the states” lasted from 1861-1865. This war was a monumental turning point for the United States at that time. It was a battle between the Union and the Confederate armies to determine who had the power to make decisions regarding the current enslavement of people and to reform the current government structure. This war was the most expensive and deadliest to ever be fought on American soil, with thousands of soldiers killed and the south left in ruin. The Civil War had been simmering for quite some time before anger erupted and it began in 1861. The main causes being that the Northern States(Union) and the Southern States(Confederate) were fighting over the rights

This brought up massive tensions among the States. One side felt it was about human rights and the other side felt the economy would suffer if the workforce of the slaves were let go. So as they seemed to be at an impasse and a war developed.
Oftentimes it's hard to see the good effects of war and death. But this war was needed at the time and did have some positive lasting effects. This war led to a unity among our state and federal governments, it led to the freeing of millions of slaves, and it is often credited with strengthening the overall economy through income taxes and banking. In conclusion, the American Civil War helped bring the states together as a nation. It helped to form our current United States economy and government. Including adding the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments to our constitution. Our nation divided itself because it didn't want to work together in making laws that created racial equality and economic stability for all Americans. These issues seem to be a forever battle in so many wars, the United States needs to learn from its mistakes and never let this happen
The Civil War was a major event in American history that lasted 4 years. It was fought between the North and South over issues like slavery, states’ rights, and how much power the federal government would have. These issues created varied viewpoints between the North and South, which later led to war. However, there are many similarities and differences in the viewpoints of both sides during the Civil War.
The Civil War was a battle of great importance to our history of the United States. On April 12th, 1861 this battle broke out between the Union States, North, and the Confederate States, such as the South. The Civil War took place all throughout the United states, and did not come to an end until the Union won the war on May 9, 1856. So, our question of “What caused the Civil War”, comes with three important answers. The three main causes of the Civil War between the North and the South were Economic, Social, and Political differences.
The Civil War: the bloodiest, most deadly battle of U.S. history. Through hard occurrences, the torn-apart nation fought an enduring war, with more than 600,000 brave soldiers perishing along the way. Beginning in the 1860’s, many states began to secede from the once unified United States of America, to create a new country: the Confederate States of America. Thus, the U.S. separated, due to each sides’ different policies. The secession of the Southern states split the nation, acting as a trigger for the Civil War.
The North's economy was not reliant on any one product or industry, which allowed it to continue to function even in times of war. Slavery played a significant role in the outcome of the Civil War. While the war began as a conflict over states' rights, it quickly became a war over the abolition of slavery. Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 declared that all slaves in the Confederate states were to be freed.
When the South heard that slavery was going to be abolished they succeeded from the Union and a war over territory and power occurred. Secession was not the main cause of the civil war because southern states felt they had the rights protected by the states to own slaves. Some, however, may argue that succession was the main cause of the civil war because the North was not willing to work with the South because the North was against slavery.
The Civil War was a critical event in the history of the United States and the war shapes how our nation works as a whole today. The cause of the war was deeply rooted in the issues of slavery and sovereignty. This made the South split from the North wanting to keep slavery in place resulting in the Civil War. The war was fought between 1861 and 1865 separating the Northern States, the Union, and the Southern States, the Confederacy. The three main reasons that led to the success of the Union in the Civil War were the Union's industry, leadership, and strategy allowing them to have a hard-fought victory.
Rocky Jennings Mrs.Dwiggins Computers 1 September 17, 2014 The Civil War On April 12, 1861 through May 9, 1865 the civil War took place. the civil war started under the influence of seven southern slave states that sought out their secession from the United States and formed the confederate state of America, which was called the confederacy or some like to call it the south. Eleven states grew into the south. The other states that were not involved with declaring secession were known as the union or north.
The American Civil War changed America and the people of America for it was a life changing. The American Civil War started because of the argument over slaves. This war lasted for 4 long years. The death count was more than 625,000 death. The Civil War started because of a man named Abraham Lincoln.
The American Civil war was from April 12, 1861 - May 26, 1865. It was fought between the Union and the Confederacy, also known as the North and the South. The cause of the war was the dispute over whether slavery would be permitted to expand into western territories, leading to more slave states, or be prevented from doing it. This was widely believed that it would place slavery on a course of ultimate extinction. Decades of political slavery caused a major turning point because of the victory in the 1860 U.S. presidential election of Abraham Lincoln, who opposed slavery’s expansion into the western territories.
Soon enough, the hostility of the northern states towards slavery started to increase which led to the
The Civil War’s Positive Effects Outweigh The Negative Effects The Civil War’s positive effects greatly outweigh the negative effects. There were numerous negative effects of the war including things like the death toll, how hard it made getting houses and decent jobs for African Americans, etc, but the positives bring light over the negatives. The Civil War greatly affected the political structure of the United States with the abolishment of slavery, with this abolishment it brought many new political advancements for the U.S.
The Civil War started in 1861 and lasted until 1865. It was the goury war fought in the United States. More than 600,000 soldiers were killed in this war. The civil war was fought between the Union, which was the Northern States called the United States of America, and the Southern States which were called the Confederate States of America. The main reason for the war was slavery, but other significant factors played a role in the war too.
The American Civil War, from 1861-1865, manifested one of the most everlasting changes in American history. Drastically changing the country economically and politically leading to the virtual reconstruction of a growing nation, which lead us to the nation, we know today as the United States of America. From the Southern point of view, this war was a War of Rebellion/ Independence from the Northern point of view this war was seen as a revolution. This unfortunate war started as a result of many years of differences between the Union and the Confederacy. It erupted after many years of conflict about economic, social, and political problems building up between the two regions.
On April 12, 1861 a tragic war broke out killing one-fifth of the 65,000 Texan soldiers. This war was known as the Civil war. It began as a result of an argument of slavery. The South supported it but the North would have none of the sort. This argument lasted until 1865 where the Union, or the northern states, had won and slavery was no longer allowed.
First, the main part of why all this happened was because of slavery. People and their states fought to prohibit slavery in the territories that had not yet become states. Another big reason they started the war was because of the election of Abraham Lincoln. According to Document 7, the Southern states believed that Lincoln was a very weak man, so the elected Jefferson Davis for their president. This enraged Lincoln so much that he declared war.
