Social media nowadays play an important role in our lives as it has a good effect it also has a bad effect on our live especially on children and Adolescents. According to Ahn (2012), children are among the most users of social network sites (SNS). Some studies find that youth spend most of their time on social media. This result in some causes and effects on children such as cyberbullying which leak the personal information of the children and affect the personality, addition to that, limitation of the time children spend on the internet by the parents affects the child to be more aggressive and antisocial. What is cyberbullying? It is a type of bullying takes place in social media using electronic devices to harm a person or to take from him important information used in bad ways. Cyberbullying is a new way for coward children to disturb other children by escaping the face to face conversation and use a hiding method by the help of the internet. Online social media can be used in positive ways as making the child connect with his teachers, friends, family and helping him in school. (National Center for Education Statistics and Bureau of Justice Statistics) indicates that 9% of students in grades 6–12 experienced cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is bullying that happens online on social media sites. People thinks it's okay to bully other people online but no it's not okay. Cyber bullying is similar to The Crucible by people dont like when people act differently. One person starts it and then others will jump in just like how they did when they started to accuse people of being witches in salem in 1940 and 1950.

Bullying peaks in middle school and 81% of teenagers state that bullying online is easier to not get caught doing (Arvig, 2017). According to a study, 25% of youths from Generation Z admitted to having written negative comments online about teenagers they know (Stein, 2016).
This study proved that given the amount of time that adolescents are on computers unsupervised whether it be at home or in public libraries those who cyberbully are most often the ones that were prior victims to cyberbullying themselves. This study would benefit in research for “affects cyberbullying has on adolescents because it gives reasons to why cyberbullying bully in the first place. Although with was full of useful information it would have been more beneficial to monitor social media sites that the kids were using verses how long the kids were on the internet. There may be some reasons why social media is good for kids, but all and all social media is dangerous to the well-being and education of minors. To start with, social media is dangerous to kids that are online because people can be anonymous, predators, and/or cyberbullies. For example, Hinduja, a professor of criminal justice, at Florida Atlantic University says that about 20% of youth have been either victims or perpetrators of cyberbullying. Also, masking one 's identity on the internet make someone more likely to be a cyberbully (SIRS 1). Masking one’s identity can be a serious problem.

Based on the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, children under 13 years are not allowed to use social media for it can give bad impact for the children who actively use it. The first bad impact is the children can easily access to bad and inappropriate contents.
Now days where ever we look we can see commercials like billboards,tv commercials,internet commercials but does it effect our decisions ? The Negative Impact from Social Media Social media is something so beneficial yet comes with so many consequences. It was created and intended to be used as a different form of communication but as time goes on people have begun to use not only social media but the internet in their own ways such as, keeping their toddlers from throwing another tantrum, or binge watching the latest season of their favorite show. It’s amazing that we can do all of this with such a small device now but the impact it leaves can be very damaging. Anything on social media or even our own devices, is never private.
