The role of sci-fi has long been to hold a high contrast image to society in order to expose the legion of flaws. Ours is to keep an ever watchful eye on scientific and social progress in conjunction with the works that depict it, as there may be both grand adventures and dire warnings hidden between the lines. A few ideas that could potentially help bring about the better: protection from outside forces should definitely be the most crucial priority, but there should be safeguards created to combat internal threats as well, both malicious singular entities and abuses on a more systemic scale. Of course this would slow down the people who truly want to pursue science in its purest form, but I fear that roadblocks to accessing the information are a necessary evil. The fact that humanity cannot achieve the perfect system is simply the result of human nature as it stands
Implications: When we only view conflict in a negative way we often damage the change that we have to resolve the differences in an approach that could have been effective (Weeks, 1994, 4). Different definitions on conflict can result in a fear of conflict. In my experience, never have I thought that conflict could be positive. My only thoughts about it was fighting and disagreements and relationships being shattered. Looking at this definition some people will avoid conflict in order to maintain the peace (Weeks, 1994, 19).
He repeats the word “To” when he is talking about the muslim religion, the poor people of our nation, and to the leaders of other nations who are out to seek conflict. Obama's use of the anaphoras was effective, but I feel he could’ve used more. Another section of Obama's speech he almost seems as if he is trying to calm down the american people from a state of panic. He says “ Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.” I think it was smart of Obama to put this in his speech because its very positive for americans to hear that. This section stood out to me because i like the fact that he's not telling the people to panic, he's basically saying stop crying, get up and do something about
Our racism here is institutionalised, it is a veiled racism, it is a racism considered taboo. Instead of discussing racism and fighting against it, our society began to fight against the idea that racism exists, as it would be much easier than dealing with the real problem. This makes me very sad about my country! Instead of questioning, it seems easier to forget that the problem exists, or simply give up the fight. Today’s we even ask ourselves more about the social ills that afflict us, but unfortunately, we are going through a dark period in which people who fight for a more just and egalitarian society are having their voices
INTRODUCTION Hypocrisy is a “DISEASE OF THE SOUL”. It is an evil characteristic of the person who embraced Islam and its principles until his lifestyle, ego or preferences were challenged due to which he adopted an unacceptable lifestyle without any resistance. It is stated in the Quran: “When the hypocrites come unto thee (O Muhammad), they say: We bear witness that thou art indeed Allah 's messenger. And Allah knows that you are indeed His messenger, and Allah bears witness that the Hypocrites are speaking falsely.” (Quran, 63: 1) This paper, as a whole, aims to address how the foundation of the crime of hypocrisy was placed, its evil in the Light of the Verses of the Holy Quran using the Tafsirs of Moulana Syed Abu Ala Moududi and Imam Ismail ibn
His project is surrounded with Oriental’s elements of thought and language (Shamma 55). In his translation there are exotic elements that do not cause any threat, these exotic elements function as a release. Burton wanted to succeed recognition by the world in learning but Lane’s translation with its heavy annotation had done everything that was necessary in setting out what the folksy reader needed to know about Muslim manners and life (Irwin 32). Burton’s competitive character towards Lane seems to have been leaded to annotate more obscure matters in his equally copious notes (Irwin 33).Also, Burton’s notes are annoying, kinky and highly personal (Irwin
The reader will come with a better understanding of underdevelopment, and the importance and difficulty of tackling it. Collier’s most controversial suggestion is the use of military intervention to reduce conflict and guarantee democracy. I agree with most of the arguments of the book, but, I must say that some arguments were hypothetical. The book is motivating, especially for readers like me who is born and raised in a developing country, providing hope for the betterment. I disagree with some of the solutions Collier has proposed.
Humans affect the change of culture. so culture is always changing and the demands on his time are appropriate changes from the community itself along with the advancement of technology in the era of globalization. All the impact of positive and negative impact of the influx of foreign culture in Indonesia depends on how we select the foreign culture.
